In the winter finale, Barry got played by The Thinker and he was caught standing over DeVoe's dead body. Instead of using his super-speed to clean up the scene or to escape, Barry stayed and was arrested for killing DeVoe. In "The Trial of The Flash," Barry's tried for DeVoe's murder. There are several important outstanding questions as the series picks up this year. How will Barry get out of this jam? And, how long will it take before Team Flash realizes the truth that DeVoe transferred bodies?
The official episode description from the CW says, "As Barry's (Grant Gustin) trial for the murder of Clifford DeVoe begins, Iris (Candice Patton) and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) must decide how far they are willing to go to keep Barry out of prison."
