Days of Our Lives Round Table: Who Is the Most Entertaining Alter?

Chloe was kidnapped and found Theresa Donovan in Mexico! The rest of Salem met Abigail’s alters, while Marlena, Vivian, and Kate were sprung from the DiMera tunnels on Days of Our Lives.

Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Mikey and Tinab from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate how Theresa and Chloe will escape, Brady’s romantic prospects, which Salemite they’d choose to be trapped with, and the most entertaining of Abigail’s personalities.

Days Of Our Lives Round Table 1-27-15

Theresa Donovan is back! Do you think she and Chloe can escape Mateo together, or will they need help?

Mikey: I’d love to see the two of them escape together, because it’s so common on this show for women to wind up captured and helpless, waiting for a man. Plus I’d love to see these two really team up (did they actually know each other before at all?) and take this nut down.

Of course, it’s more interesting dramatically if other Salemites become involved, but I don’t think Brady could even find his way out of his hospital room, let alone to Mexico City. I’m impressed that Lucas figured out that something was up with Chloe leaving, though… maybe he can lead things.

Or Eve! Let Eve do it! It’s her sister and her friend, and she’s gotta have those Shane Donovan genes somewhere.

RELATED: Get Hallmark Movies Now via Prime Video Channels for Stories with Heart, Captivating Movies & More!

Tinab: I think Shane will help Teresa and Chloe escape. I would love to see them do it alone but I have a feeling they will get help.

Jack: I'd love to see them escape Mateo together, but given the way the writers seem to love writing women as damsels in distress lately, I don't have high hopes.

It would be awesome to see Chloe and Theresa save the day for Lucas when he comes after Chloe instead of the other way around though!

Christine: I love the idea of them saving themselves, but given the show’s history, that seems unlikely. I hate the idea of Lucas having to run to the rescue, and Shane has allowed his daughter to suffer for months, what would push him to do something now?

I think having Eve play hero would be amazing! Unfortunately, she’s stuck pining over Brady in a hospital room.

Imprisoned in Mexico - Days of Our Lives

With whom would you like to see Brady romantically paired: Theresa, Eve, someone else, or "Dear God, can’t the man be single for five minutes?"

Mikey: The last one! I actually don’t think any of these — and I’m subbing in Chloe for “someone else” — would necessarily be a bad option, if they really committed to a narrative, but he’s just on this absurd merry-go-round of women. Raise your damn son for ten minutes!

I don’t think Brady is ruined for romantic pairings, but it would be great to see him take a break and figure out who he is and what he wants to be without being defined by these borderline-obsessive “loves."

Tinab: Brady needs a break, but truthfully I do like him with Eve as they seem more genuine. There was a lot of underhanded stuff that lead to him and Theresa.

Jack: NOBODY. If I have to pick one I'll go with Theresa. They did have a genuine love story for a while. But Brady falls in love so quickly all the time that I had to laugh both at Theresa's shock that he moved on so fast and him telling Eve he was done with love until he met her.

Christine: It’s downright comical how quickly Brady falls in and out of love. He should be single for a while and concentrate and what he wants for himself and Tate, in a context that has nothing to do with women or pleasing Victor.

However, I have been enjoying Brady with Eve more than I ever expected. Neither are perfect, but they could actually make one another happy which is a refreshing change of pace for both characters.

Split Personality - Days of Our Lives

Which of Abigail’s personalities (original Abby, Gabby, or Dr. Laura) do you find the most entertaining and why?

Mikey: I’ve come to find “Gabby” the most entertaining just because she’s rude as hell to everyone, which is funny, and she’s disrupting the status quo. I also think Marci Miller has started bringing a bit of fire to the portrayal.

That doesn’t mean I “like” her, per se, and her thing with Stefan is so problematic that it can be tough to watch, but as a villain and an obstacle, I find her interesting. I also want to know how she keeps her wig attached so nicely during so many physical tussles, sex, etc...

Tinab: I used to really like Abby but at this point I can’t stand any of her personalities.

RELATED: Get True Crime Files by ID via Prime Video Channels for Over 1,000 Real-life Mystery & Suspense Shows!

Jack: I like Abby. I'm not a fan of violent alters or ridiculous stories involving them, and Abby's fear whenever she surfaces and can't remember what she's been doing for days is the most realistic and powerful part of this story.

Christine: I’ve never been a huge fan of Abigail’s, but I’ve found her particularly dull since she’s returned from the dead. The only alter that’s interesting is Gabby, but it would be nice if they could incorporate some of her fire into Abigail as a whole when this is all done.

Vivian, Marlena, and Kate - Days of Our Lives

If you had to be trapped in a room with either Marlena, Kate, or Vivian, which one would you choose?

Mikey: They all have their merits! Vivian is probably the funniest, but I’d be legitimately worried she would kill me. Actually… they all have troubling histories with regards to murder.

Marlena sure seems to have a good sense of humor about all the insane things that have happened to her, but I’m also not sure I’d want to be trapped with someone who cackles about transforming into a jaguar and attacking a bunch of scholars…

Can I just cut off my own oxygen and not pick?!

Tinab: I could handle Kate. Marlena would analyze you, and Vivian is evil, but Kate just wanted to get drunk!

Jack: Marlena, because I'd love the opportunity for some career advice. Besides, both Kate and Vivian are the kind of people I'd rather be entertained by from a loooong distance away.

Christine: I’m going with Kate. Vivian is too crazy to trust and Marlena could get all moral at a critical moment or just sit back and decide John will save her. I can see Kate and I coming up with some devious plan to escape and following through on it.

Dealing With Blindness Together - Days of Our Lives

Which storyline would you like to see more of on Days right now, and which one would you cut?

Mikey: Steve’s blindness feels so underplayed for the tale of a decades-old character losing a significant ability and adjusting to life that way. Like he went blind one day, and the next Salem day, he was just wandering around town on his own, and no one seemed to find it that weird.

Does no one give a crap? Is he a savant? They’re acting like he got bronchitis and has to function like that. He can’t see! This is also one of those things where I’m actually interested in seeing people’s reactions and interactions to it.

Tinab: I was over the Gabby with a y story but it’s good now that it is ending. I don’t love Leo and Sonny. I also want Steve to get his eyesight back.

RELATED: Days of Our Lives Review: Back to the Way It Was

Jack: I'd like to see more of JJ having a story, preferably getting caught between Abby and Gabi and not sure how to navigate his loyalty to both his sister and the woman who saved his life.

Let's cut this boring Sonny/Leo nonsense. I'm even less interested in Leo than in Lani's baby.

Christine: Steve’s blindness! The show is skipping over so much good material and it’s a crime because Stephen Nichols is such a pro. Like Mikey said, there are story and character moments that are being completely missed.

Which to cut? There are too many to choose from, but after this week I’ll agree with getting rid of Leo. It’s a boring story with no purpose…but most weeks I’d ask for the Rafe/Hope romance to finally be killed off for good, cremated and then buried in the hopes that not even Dr. Rolf could brink it back.

Leo and Sonny - Days of Our Lives

What, if anything, disappointed you this week in Salem?

Mikey: I hated that we didn’t actually get to see John visiting Brady. We get to see Brady with his immediate family so briefly, and they skipped over that interaction.

And Marlena’s scene in his room was so clinical and focused on Eve. I don’t know why he has to be solely a Kiriakis, but I’m bummed any time they downplay him interacting with the family that we saw him grow up with.

Tinab: It was an excellent week, but I don’t like Brady and Lucas looking pitiful; I would like to see both of them man up.

Jack: JJ only got one little scene with Gabi and then nothing for the rest of the week. And Stefan raping Abby seems to have no real consequences.

Christine: The scene between JJ and Gabi was lackluster at best. I’d like to see these two as friends, and take Rafe out of the room. Also, Trask making a deal with a mentally ill woman to forgo sexual assault charges was all kinds of wrong.

Marlena, Vivian, and Kate - Days of Our Lives

What was your favorite quote, scene or storyline on this week’s Days of Our Lives?

Mikey: Everything with the three women in the sealed room was terrific. Just putting three characters with that much history in a closed space and forcing them to interact when they normally wouldn’t — that’s the core of soap opera.

Days could do more of that and less of contriving scenarios and it would soar! It’s good TV to let characters with bizarre histories discuss and react to them.

Tinab: My favorite storyline this week was Kate, Marlena and Vivian trapped, although I didn’t care for the demonic possession story at the time, it was great fun to relive it!!

Jack: Steve and Kayla. Steve and Kayla. Steve and Kayla. Seriously, that little scene where Kayla told Steve that their forever vows included him sharing his struggles with his blindness with her and him saying she was all the light he needed was the best scene of the week. I really want to see more of these two.

Christine: Jack took my favorite scene with Steve and Kayla, but I also liked Marlena laughing about being possessed. It was such a ridiculous storyline at the time that it’s actually entertaining to look back and make fun of it now.

13 Ways NCIS's Abby Scuito Changed the World

After 15 seasons, encompassing 16 years, Abby Scuito will be leaving the NCIS lab for good.

Actress Pauley Perrette announced in October 2017 that she had decided it was time to hang up her lab coat after over 300 episodes, and NCIS fans are already mourning her loss.

Former NCIS agent Tony DiNozzo once described Abby as, "a paradox wrapped in an oxymoron smothered in contradictions in terms. Sleeps in a coffin. Really, the happiest Goth you'll ever meet."

This remarkable character not only affected the universe which is NCIS, but the real world as well.

Can the show survive without its near genius forensic specialist whose can-do attitude and effervescent personality has kept fans tuning in week after week, year after year?

Time will tell, but in the mean time, we'll list the 13 ways in which Ms. Abby Scuito changed our world.

And if you need to see more Abby now, you can watch NCIS online here at TV Fanatic.

1. The Abby Effect

Miss sciuto
Did you know that there was such a thing known as "The Abby Effect"?

Where the overall field of science has been dominated by men, Abby Sciuto has made a difference.

With 15 years on screen as a top forensic scientist, Abby has inspired many girls and young women to enter the field.

The NCIS Abby Effect (along with characters from Bones and CSI) are considered part of the reason why students going into forensic science programs are over 70% female! That’s pretty amazing.

2. There Are Even Abby Sciuto Inspired Scholarships...

Abby sciuto photo
For these, you'll have to thank the actress herself, Pauley Perrette who originated two different scholarships for women hoping to follow in Abby's path.

One scholarship is at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City and the second is to Ms. Perrette's own alma mater, Valdosta State University in Georgia.

3. Keeping Work Fun

Storytime with abby ncis season 15 episode 14
We should all have a little more fun on the job. Abby always did.

Was there ever a time you saw her lab where the music wasn't playing or you couldn't spot at least one toy?

There have been stuffed bunnies, giraffes, and of course the infamous Bert the Farting Hippo.

4. Have Your Own Style

Pauley perrette abby sciuto ncis
With her Harlee Quinn pigtails, dark, black hair, dog collars, and spider web neck tattoo, no one could say Abby Sciuto didn't have her own unique sense of style.

If anyone ever questioned Abby's look, she only smiled and remained purposefully oblivious. If there was ever a character who was comfortable in her own skin, it's been Abby Sciuto.

5. Making Gibbs Smile

Brightening gibbs day
No one, and I mean no one, could make Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs smile quite like Abby Sciuto.

Gibbs and Abby have always had a father/daughter like relationship. She's kept him smiling and he's kept her stocked with Caf-Pows for 15 seasons!

We don't know how Gibbs will cope without Abby's smiling face to greet him each day.

6. Abby and McGee

Mcabby photo
We admit it. Throughout many of the early seasons of NCIS, we were rooting for Abby and McGee to become a solid, long term couple, but it wasn't meant to be.

But that's not necessarily a bad thing. The two have developed a life long friendship and both have found their own happiness, Tim's with wife Delilah and his twins, and Abby with her work, and possibly her park ranger boyfriend.

Days of Our Lives Round Table: Is Salem Filled With Boring Couples?

A blind Steve proved better at finding Abigail than the entire Salem PD, Gabi was the next Salemite to get beaten in prison, and Chloe was abducted on Days of Our Lives.

TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando war joined by Vanessa and Villa281 from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate Abigail’s fate, Claire and Ciara’s truce, and the lack of entertaining romance in Salem.

Days Of Our Lives Round Table 1-27-15

How many couples in Salem do you consider to be boring right now?

Vanessa: I honestly think all of the couples are boring right now.

Jack: I've lost count. Most pairings are either boring or aggravating. The only romance on this show belongs to Steve/Kayla and Doug/Julie -- two legacy couples that we rarely see.

RELATED: Get Hallmark Movies Now via Prime Video Channels for Stories with Heart, Captivating Movies & More!

Villa281: All of them actually. I can't say I am really behind any of the pairings. I find them all pretty underwhelming. I think Tripp and Ciara have potential, but I don't like what they are doing with them.

Christine: Agreed! The majority of the couples on the show right now either have no real chemistry or are just plain boring, and that’s a big problem for a soap! The show just throws couples together or sticks with couples that aren’t working. What ever happened to love in the afternoon?

Ciara Catches Claire - Days of Our Lives

Do you believe that Ciara and Claire have really turned over a new leaf?

Vanessa: I highly doubt it, they're teenage girls. Things can be okay for a minute and then poof, they're back to being screaming banshees.

Jack: Absolutely not. If anything, Ciara has gone downhill while Claire has stayed the same as always. The writers clearly think she is the victim in this and that Claire is evil, but all I saw was a pettiness competition and I doubt either girl is going to change for very long.

Villa281: No, I think they plan on playing this rivalry like they did Sami and Carrie.

Christine: Ugh, probably not. The show insists on portraying these two young woman like bratty adolescents. I’d love to see that change but nothing we’ve seen so far gives me any reason to get my hopes up.

Lani Bumps Into JJ - Days of Our Lives

What do you think of Eli and Lani as parents-to-be?

Vanessa: I think they are scared, Lani's terrified and it showed when she was telling Eli that the baby isn't a case to be solved.

Jack: *Yawn* I'm not interested in Lani or her baby and I'd rather see Eli go to a lawyer to work out a custody arrangement than spend a single second taking care of the woman who tried to keep him from his child for months.

Though I liked Julie getting over involved. I felt that was an appropriate punishment for Lani's lies and manipulations.

RELATED: 7 Ways Days of Our Lives Could (and Should!) Be Using JJ Deveraux

Villa281: Neither of them seem very excited about it, and neither am I. My only hope is that J.J. and Gabi might eventually get back together.

Christine: I can’t say as I care enough about either of them to feel much. Lani lied and manipulated people for months. She’s lucky to have anyone by her side after that.

Victor Keeps a Secret - Days of Our Lives

Why do you think Victor never told Maggie the truth about Theresa, and do you think he will in the near future?

Vanessa: I guess because he doesn't like Theresa, I don't see him telling her.

Jack: Victor is Victor. He does underhanded things, nowadays often (but not always) with good intentions. In Theresa's case, I think he felt the best way to keep Brady and Tate safe was to let everyone believe that Theresa went back to drugs and selfish behavior.

If Theresa returns to Salem and they end the stupidity that served as her exit story, at that point I hope Victor will tell Maggie the truth and not let her think the worst of Theresa.

Villa281: I guess he thought Maggie would probably try and butt in and fix the situation. I think if he does tell anyone, Maggie will be the first one.

Christine: I think Victor was trying to protect everyone involved, and he couldn’t be sure of Maggie’s reaction, and if she told Brady, Brady would have run after Theresa and could have gotten him and Tate killed.

I agree that Theresa’s exit story was ridiculous, but I hope the truth comes out and she can be redeemed in everyone’s eyes if she comes back to Salem.

Gabby and Stefan - Days of Our Lives

What should happen to Abigail if they prove she killed Andre?

Vanessa: I think she should get tried and maybe get sent to a legit mental hospital. There are too many mentally ill people that don't get the proper treatment in the prison system.

Jack: She should be arrested, like any other murder suspect, and then her attorney (hopefully not Justin) should argue an insanity defense and she should be committed to a mental institution until she can be proven to no longer be a danger to herself or anyone else.

RELATED: Get True Crime Files by ID via Prime Video Channels for Over 1,000 Real-life Mystery & Suspense Shows!

I'd suggest a joint recommendation with the DA for this but since the DA is Trask that is not likely to go well.

Villa281: I don't think anything would happen legally to her, but I think she will be filled with guilt.

Christine: She needs to be arrested for murder, and then let a good attorney and psychiatrist build a case to get her the help she needs. Of course this is Salem, so good luck finding a competent attorney or therapist!

Gabi in Trouble - Days of Our Lives

What, if anything, disappointed you this week in Salem?

Vanessa: Stefan is still alive, that is really irritating as I can't stand him.

Jack: Waaay too much violence! Gabi's beat down was gratuitous and I suspect it's a plot point to bring Rafe and Hope back together over their mutual fear for her rather than any kind of real story.

I also don't think we needed yet another woman getting kidnapped and suddenly becoming too helpless to do anything to protect herself (why the heck didn't Chloe give off any subtle signs to Eve that something was wrong???).

This Face of Bella storyline is a competition to see who can be more petty, obnoxious, and unlikeable, and this back and forth between Brady and Eve is nothing but annoying.

I was glad Steve and Kayla were back but there wasn't enough of them; I'd rather see more of them and less of the random violence and petty arguments.

Finally, I'd much rather see Jennifer pursuing a story than just see her be unable to read her notes. Feisty reporter Jennifer is a character I fell in love with years ago and I want her back!

Villa281: I am not really liking the Disassociative Identity Disorder storyline, to be honest, and I don't like Stefan/Abby or Gabby.

Christine: Way too much violence! Why does every woman (Hope, Adrienne, Gabi) in Statesville Prison have to get beaten up?

And what’s with the huge gap in storytelling. We have Marlena, Vivian, and Kate all locked up together. That should be entertaining television but we haven’t seem them in days. JJ went to check on Gabi in prison and then dropped off our screens yet again.

Also Steve and Kayla have the best romance, and a compelling, emotional story, but they’re hardly ever around. Why is Days ignoring its strengths to focus on its weaknesses?

Caught in the Park - Days of Our Lives

What was your favorite quote, scene or storyline on this week’s Days of Our Lives?

Vanessa: Jennifer and Chad's scene was the best as the emotions were well played.

Jack: I liked seeing Kayla and JJ spend time together, and I loved the fact that Steve seemed to have a Gabby magnet so that she kept getting caught by him despite his blindness.

The little Steve/Kayla scene we got with Kayla reassuring Steve that it wasn't his fault that Gabby got away was also wonderful, and I also enjoyed Jennifer and Chad talking about what happened to Abigail.

Villa281: I don't know if it was my favorite, but I was stunned to see Julie being so nice and helpful towards Lani. I thought for sure she was going to hate for her for trying to pass her grandson's child off as J.J.'s.

Christine: It was good to see Chad and Jennifer consoling one another about Abigail. In the past, Jennifer would have blamed Chad for everything and he'd have no support. I’m happy we’re past that.

I also love Steve Johnson, even if we don’t see he and Kayla often enough. He’s a better investigator blind than the entire Salem PD lumped together!

He's a regular contributing columnist for newspapers and magazines around the world, the chairman of his Skyhook Foundation, whose mission is to "Give Kids a Shot That Can't be Blocked" by bringing educational STEM opportunities to underserved communities, a best selling author, and the recipient of The Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor.

Not willing to sit idle for a moment, Kareem will pair up with professional dance partner, Lindsay Arnold and go after that Mirrorball. No one should be surprised if he wins that too.

Tonya and Sasha will be starting off the competition with a foxtrot to “When You Believe” by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey.

Will Tonya's grit and determination put her and dance partner Sasha Farber on top of the leader board? We can't wait to find out.

6. Josh Norman and Sharna Burgess

Days of Our Lives Round Table: Who Is The Most Selfish Person In Salem?

Rafe refused to steer clear of Hope, Eve gave Brady a second chance, and Tripp got blindsided for trying to be a good friend on Days of Our Lives.

Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Sportsgirl from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate Rafe ignoring Hope's wishes, Eve forgiving Brady, Wyatt's return, and choosing the most selfish person in Salem.

Days Of Our Lives Round Table 1-27-15

Who is the most selfish person in Salem?

Sportsgirl: I have to vote for Claire. First hiding Ciara's letter, being mad at Theo for trying to help her, being jealous of Ciara and Tripp so she tapes her secret and finally cheating to win the contest. Oh, many others are selfish too, so it was tough to choose, but yep, it's Claire.

Jack: It's a toss up between Stefan and Lani. Both of them care only about their own feelings and will do anything to hold onto the object of their desire, who they do not see as a fellow human being, and neither one is above using their "loved one's" mental illness against them in order to stop them from leaving.

Christine: Although I agree with all of the above, I’m choosing Rafe. All we’ve heard all week from Rafe is what he wants. He doesn’t seem to care that he lied and cheated, that Hope doesn’t want to be married to him, or that she’s uncomfortable working with him. He’s determined to get what he wants no matter what she feels.

Hope and Rafe Find the Truth - Days of Our Lives

Is Rafe more interested in getting Hope back than helping his sister?

Sportsgirl: I admit, I missed a bunch of episodes with these two a week ago, but I really believe he wants to help his sister get out of jail. Having Hope help could maybe become a bonus.

Related: Get True Crime Files by ID via Prime Video Channels for Over 1,000 Real-life Mystery & Suspense Shows!

Jack: It certainly seems that way! Gabi is an afterthought and it seems like Rafe is using the investigation into who really killed Andre as an excuse to be close to Hope and try to get her to take him back.

Christine: Yes! It feels like he’s using this investigation to manipulate Hope into staying close to him. I’m sure he wants to see his sister be exonerated, but it certainly doesn’t appear to be his priority.

Brady and Eve Reunite - Days of Our Lives

Are you happy to see Eve give Brady a second chance?

Sportsgirl: To be perfectly honest, I am not sure how I feel about Eve and Brady. I do believe that Brady thinks he is in love with her, but I’m not sure if she feels the same. Plus, add in a big spoiler on the horizon, and it makes this too hard to answer.

Jack: Not really. I was enjoying seeing Eve be a strong woman who was more interested in her company than the affections of a man who was beneath her.

Christine: I hate how quickly Brady seems to fall in love with whichever woman is in his orbit. I can’t say I’m rooting for this couple, or rooting against them, but it is nice to see Eve happy for a change. I’d like to have more of that.

Gabby and Stefan - Days of Our Lives

Stefan had sex with Gabby (Abigail’s alter). Do you consider this an entertaining but twisted love story, sexual abuse, or something in between?

Sportsgirl: Something in between. Entertaining would not be a word I’d choose, maybe shocking is better? To me though, this is a soap opera and I believe they need to be over the top. It should be part reality but a larger part fantasy.

Jack: That was definitely sexual abuse! It's the exact same thing Lani did to JJ. In both cases, the person had sex with someone who couldn't consent at that moment and won't even remember the sex later.

If anything, this Dissociative Identity Disorder storyline is even worse because it makes a mockery of a serious mental health condition on top of it.

Christine: It would be one thing if Stefan didn’t realize that Abigail was fighting for control over her own psyche, but the fact that he was using sex with Gabby to destroy Abigail was kind of sick. He blatantly took advantage of a mentally ill women and there should be consequences for that.

Wyatt Returns to Salem - Days of Our Lives

Wyatt is back in Salem. Are you happy to see him, or do you wish this storyline would end?

Sportsgirl: Actually, I am glad to see Wyatt. I think he brings a part of Ciara's past that needs to be faced for her. Ciara has really never had the therapy she deserved. Instead she took off to Hong Kong. Running away is not an answer.

Jack: I wish this storyline would end. It's demeaning to everyone involved and isn't holding my interest. And Wyatt is nothing but a temporary distraction to make Tripp jealous so that he and Ciara can be together, so I don't see what we need him for. I'd rather Theo return to Salem, or at least that we see his half of the conversations on video chat.

Christine: I have no interest in Wyatt at all. I think the show is completely dropping the ball with Ciara and Tripp. They could use her history for real drama for this budding couple, and instead they are using silly contests and superficial fights. It’s boring, not entertaining.

An Evil Alter - Days of Our Lives

What, if anything, disappointed you this week in Salem?

Sportsgirl: Too much Abigail and the alter story. Marci Miller has been killing it, but I miss characters like Valerie and stories like Jennifer & Eric.

Jack: Sadly, for the second week in a row, more disappointed me than didn't. Let's start with the forced couples and propping of the wrong people.

Lani is still not a hero and JJ should not be forgiving her. In fact, he shouldn't be wasting time talking to her when he could be visiting Gabi, empathizing since he also has a criminal record and was falsely arrested for murder not that long ago, and helping investigate and clear her name in order to repay her for saving his life.

Chad should be trying to get his mentally ill wife help, not spending all his time visiting Gabi. Hope should stay far away from Rafe.

But in all these cases, the writers and producers have decided to force couples together that a majority of viewers hate!

Then there's the whole Gabby/Stefan rape treated as love story thing, which is another disgusting attempt at glamorizing rape.

Vivian, Marlena, and Kate - Days of Our Lives

We have three strong women locked in a room who are doing nothing to try to help themselves but instead are gossiping while waiting for men to come rescue them, and two of them are speaking disparagingly of the mentally ill while the third -- a psychiatrist who supposedly is focused on helping the patient who did this to her -- says nothing to correct their behavior.

We also have Will investigating himself and also going behind Paul's back to interview Clyde after he said he wouldn't instead of being honest with his partner, which will surely blow up in his face later.

Claire and Ciara continued to act like preschoolers over a beauty contest instead of being strong, confident young women. And where were Steve and Kayla? The best storyline on the show is being back-burnered for all this garbage.

Christine: Where the heck are Steve and Kayla? They have the best romance and best story in Salem and yet they are no where to be found.

Couple that with the show shoving Hope and Rafe together at every turn, and having to listen to every character push Hope to take him back, and this week was just horrible.

I’ve watched this show my whole life, but these scenes had my wondering why I still tune in.

Chloe Stays in Salem - Days of Our Lives

What was your favorite quote, scene or storyline on this week’s Days of Our Lives?

Sportsgirl: I actually liked the fact that Chloe turned down the opera offer as she said because of Lucas. The kiss she gave him was so such a sweet scene, but I hope he doesn't get hurt again. It has been a weak week for favorite scenes for sure.

Jack: Slim pickings this week, but Paul putting the pieces together about what really happened to Marlena was great.

Christine: I love how strong Gabi is, and her calling out Eli and Chad. Good for her! Yes, she needs their help, but she’s got every right to be furious, and fiery is a great look on her.

Days of Our Lives Round Table: Who Wants Rafe To Sign Those Papers?

Marlena was abducted yet again, Hope handed Rafe annulment papers, and Adrienne asked Will to take on an unbelievable assignment this week in Salem.

Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by WendyLou from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives Fan Forum to debate if Rafe should sign those papers, how they rate Abby’s alters, and who should win the Bella magazine competition after this week’s Days of Our Lives.

Days Of Our Lives Round Table 1-27-15

Did you want Rafe to sign the annulment papers? Why or why not?

Wendylou: I think he should have because Hope wants him to. I know he wants to win her back but he's really forcing it. Doesn't he know that saying about setting something free if you love it?

He made a big mistake. He needs to let her go and maybe, someday, if they really, truly are worth fighting for, Hope will forgive him.

Jack: The sooner the better! I don't want to see these two sharing any more scenes, especially if they're discussing/arguing about the future of their relationship.

Watching them fight bored me so much that I kept checking the time to see how much more of this I had to endure before I could turn off the TV.

Plus, the more they interact, the more I'm afraid they'll find their way back to each other and I don't want that at all, especially since Rafe is acting borderline stalkerish.

Christine: Oh please, make him sign those papers! If Rafe really loved Hope, he’d sign them and then, perhaps try to start over and win her back (not that I want them back together, ever!) But he is a controlling jerk who is only interested in what he wants.

In case I didn’t make it clear, I hate this couple and want them over for good.

Adrienne Hires Will - Days of Our Lives

Should Adrienne have asked Will to do a story on Dr. Rolf, and use Susan Banks to do it?

Wendylou: I felt it was totally inappropriate and insensitive. I get that exposing Dr. Rolf's drug would be huge but she should realize how traumatic it would be for Will to go back to the woman who basically kidnapped him and brainwashed him. Unfortunately, I think he will eventually do the story.

Jack: Absolutely not. First of all, no reporter worth his salt reports on himself, EVER, and news stories have to go beyond what's personally interesting to the writer or editor and be of relevance to the general public.

Adrienne's claim that Will telling the story of his resurrection would somehow be of help to cancer survivors was ridiculous.

I credit part of my interest in writing and journalism to watching Jennifer and Jack be reporters when I was little and I'm heartbroken to see what the Spectator has become. I thought the purpose of Jen and Adrienne buying it was to salvage its reputation, not ruin it further.

Christine: I felt horrible for Will. Adrienne was using his trauma to mine a story for her paper. Then she was asking him to interrogate his mentally ill, surrogate mother to gain more info. It made it look as though the only reason she hired Will was to use him, and I was really disappointed.

Lucas and Chloe Argue - Days of Our Lives

Is Lucas’ protectiveness of Chloe sweet or overbearing?

Wendylou: OVERBEARING! Way out of line. I'm not sure I would find it sweet if they'd been together a long time but they are barely an item and I think he's treating her like a child who can't take care of herself.

Attacking the guy when he reached into his pocket was ridiculous. It was a public place filled with people. What did he think would happen? I do think the guy is going to be dangerous because I'm pretty sure he's the same man who's keeping Theresa BUT Lucas needs to back down, at least for now.

Related: Get Hallmark Movies Now via Prime Video Channels for Stories with Heart, Captivating Movies & More!

Jack: Lucas is being overbearing. Chloe is being idiotic to not have any skepticism about what sounds like a stereotypical sex trafficking scheme, but that's beside the point. We have more than enough men trying to run women's lives for them; let's not add Lucas to that mix.

Christine: So overbearing. He’s got every right to voice his concerns and even offer to help her check it out, but Lucas attacking the man in public was over the top.

Stefan Only Wants Gabby - Days of Our Lives

On a scale of 1 (I hate it!) to 10 (I love it!) rate the Abigail and her alters storyline.

Wendylou: I'd give it a solid five. I don't like the alters and I HATE creepy Stefan's obsession with Gabby but I do like Abigail's inner struggle and Gabi's explanation made some really great sense.

I've always thought Abby was being exceptionally secure and mature about Gabi and Chad's relationship. I can totally buy that she's been pushing down all that jealousy, insecurity and anger and now it's manifesting itself like this.

In addition to all of the other trauma she's been through. I do like that aspect of it. I'm ready for her to get busted though.

Jack: How about -15,000? This story has nothing to do with DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder). It's inaccurate and is being written as yet another doppleganger story.

Plus the focal point is Stefan being "in love" with the Gabby alter and taking advantage of a woman's serious mental illness to get her in bed. It's disgusting and a new low for a show that has already had too many lows in the last few years.

Christine: Ugh. A 3 at best. Abigail’s history of mental illness had such potential to be a compelling story, but what they’ve done is make it ridiculous. And with Stefan wanting to sleep with the Gabby alter and willing to hurt people to do it, that just adds a sleazy aspect that makes me cringe.

Tripp Grows Frustrated - Days of Our Lives

Who would you like to see win the modeling competition: Ciara, Claire, or someone else?

Wendylou: Absolutely someone else and then I never want to hear about it again. Let's find intelligent, talented young women something other to aspire to other than modeling. It's way overdone.

Also, they should both be disqualified for being related to pretty much EVERYONE who owns or works at Titan. Can you imagine reading that the winner just happened to be the owner's granddaughter? Nothing fishy about that.

Jack: Someone else. This competition is devolving quickly into the kind of drama I don't care about at all, and I think all of the characters involved know better and could find better things to do with their time.

Christine: Couldn’t they have had them competing for an internship or a real job? This show having yet another modeling competition is so trite and boring.

Plus, Claire and Ciara are such brats. I want someone else to win, and then have these young women grow up and stop acting like they’re in junior high.

Marlena Confronts Stefan - Days of Our Lives

What, if anything, disappointed you this week in Salem?

Wendylou: The shallowness of Ciara and Claire. They really need some more depth. They go round in circles about the most petty things. It's boring.

Also, Marlena should have been smart enough to leave the heated situation at the DiMera mansion and then come back with help. What did she think would happen?

Jennifer being completely biased and blind about her daughter.

Jack: A better question is what didn't disappoint me this week. I really missed Steve and Kayla. Their romance and realistic storyline balances out all the crazy and without them getting airtime, it was pretty obvious how awful a lot of the other stories are.

There was far too much focus on Rafe/Hope, plus Marlena left her brain in the office when she confronted Gabby. And why the heck didn't she just push past Stefan and escape when he left the door open and room for her to get by?

Also, why is Chad prioritizing Gabi over his mentally ill wife, refusing to get a single clue about what happened, and stating that the only reason he chose Abby over Gabi is that she's the mother of his child (who we never see)? And don't get me started on how ridiculous Gabi's trial was and how poor a job Justin did.

Christine: Rafe insisting, over and over again, that he and Hope are in love. If it were true, they wouldn't have to hit the audience over the head with it in every scene. Enough with this couple already!

Also, where were Steve and Kayla? They are the one shining light on the show right now and they were almost nonexistent this week.

Finally, I wanted to see how JJ was coping, but we didn’t see him either.

John Offers Brady Advice - Days of Our Lives

What was your favorite quote, scene or storyline on this week’s Days of Our Lives?

Wendylou: I really liked Tripp's maturity about the contest and being able to see that Claire has got some major insecurity issues going on. If Ciara's smart she'll listen to him and realize there are more important things in life than winning a silly contest just to irritate someone.

I also liked Sonny being an smart enough to break things off with Leo even though I know Vivian's still going to get him.

Jack: Slim pickings this week, but I guess I liked Hope telling Rafe their whole relationship was a lie and telling Ciara to stop trying to get back at Claire for making her aware of the truth.

And Marlena putting the pieces together about G/abby was great until she turned stupid.

Also, I'm enjoying John being in an advisory role to other characters and I'm glad he pointed out to Brady that listening to Victor was a terrible idea.

Christine: Hope handing Rafe annulment papers and pointing out that he broke off their engagement and then traipsed off and slept with Sami. I really want Hope to move on.

Days of Our Lives Round Table: Was Jennifer Defending Lani?!?

JJ dumped Lani but she managed to turn the tables and place some of the blame on Valerie. Chloe was being stalked by a super-fan who wanted her to move to Mexico City, and Shawn Douglass continued to push Hope to get back together with Rafe on Days of Our Lives.

Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando were joined by Silvana from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate Jennifer defending Lani, Abe’s anger towards Valerie, and whether Tripp can keep the peace between Ciara and Claire.

Days Of Our Lives Round Table 1-27-15

Were you surprised by Jennifer’s reaction to Lani lying about the baby?

Silvana: I'm not sure why Jennifer is justifying Lani's actions. It’s like she really doesn't want to consider the selfishness that went on here.

Yes, JJ was in a dark place and maybe in the beginning Lani was trying to protect him. But as time went on she continued the lie.

Jennifer should not be defending what Lani did. I'm not saying that she should 'Kate' her, but defending her to JJ is the wrong move here. It's as they say, the cover-up is often worse than the original lie.

Jack: I was both surprised and disappointed. I'd been looking forward to Jennifer going Mama Bear on Lani but instead she was written out of character to defend the woman who messed with her son's head.

Christine: I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! She was actually justifying Lani tricking JJ into believing he was the father of her child. Jennifer should have been furious. Her response wasn’t just disappointing, it was mind boggling.

Lani Blames Valerie - Days of Our Lives

Did Lani have the right to make Valerie look like the bad guy to Abe?

Silvana: No. While Valerie isn't the victim, Lani is just trying to throw the blame off of herself. She doesn't want to take full responsibility and, I guess, is reluctant to throw Eli under the bus, so she's taking it out on Valerie. What's next backing the truck over Kayla too?

Jack: Technically Lani can say whatever she wants to whomever she wants but morally…no. Lani caused this mess and Valerie was the only one trying to get her to cut out the lies instead of enabling her.

Related: NBC Cheat Sheet: What Will Be Renewed?

Christine: Wow! Lani is a piece of work. Heaven forbid Valerie want Lani to be truthful about her future grandchild.

And what was up with Abe? Abe didn’t seem to have any problem with Lani roping JJ into being the father of her child, and cutting Eli out of their lives, but he’s furious with Valerie.

The residents of Salem have a strange way of looking at right and wrong.

Tripp Grows Frustrated - Days of Our Lives

Can Tripp keep the peace between Ciara and Claire?

Silvana: No. Tripp may not want to admit it but he is the catch in this love triangle. As long as he's a factor, as long as the three of them are living in that apartment, things are going to get worse.

He has to chose a girl and get his own place. Until then neither side is really going to listen to him.

Jack: Probably not. But at this point, I don't care. Get him and Ciara out of Claire's orbit before I lose my mind, please.

Christine: I don’t think anyone can keep Ciara and Claire from acting like spoiled brats. Tripp is a great guy, and he deserves better than either of them, but Claire is the more annoying of the two. I wish she’d enjoy a very long visit with Theo in South Africa.

Bonding Over Drinks - Days of Our Lives

Do you have any ideas about who Chloe’s super fan might be?

Silvana: I'm of the belief that it's an obsessed fan. What Miguel said rang true to my theory that it's someone who saw her and wants her.

But I've recently been swayed a bit to the side that it's the drug dealer that Theresa left with. This is a way to get the character back on the scene and integrate Chloe and Lucas into a bigger story line.

Of course what I actually want is some dark and handsome stranger to come and sweep Chloe off her feet. But anything juicy for the character is something that I'll accept.

Jack: Possibly some guy involved with Theresa's disappearance.

Christine: Yeah, the moment they mentioned Mexico City I thought of Theresa’s former drug dealer/boyfriend. This could be a way to give Chloe a story and bring Theresa back to Salem.

Hope Visits Shawn - Days of Our Lives

Were you happy to see Shawn Douglass and Belle once again?

Silvana: I love the characters and over the years the actors have really grown on me. I started watching Days during the Teen scene years (I was a pre-teen myself) and Shelle were my second favorite couple next to Phloe.

While these aren't the actors I knew, I've grown to like them and enjoy the pairing. I wish they'd be signed full time.

Jack: I was, until Shawn opened his mouth about Rafe and was on the wrong side of this thing. This visit was mostly a waste between the Rafe propping and the nonsense with Chad and Gabigail.

Christine: No. Shawn and Belle bore me. Add to it that Shawn Douglass couldn’t stop pushing Hope to go back to Rafe and I couldn’t wait for Shawn and Belle to get off my screen.

Dr. Laura Confronts Stefan - Days of Our Lives

What, if anything, disappointed you this week in Salem?

Silvana: I can not express fully in words my disdain for the Dissociative Identity Disorder story. I hate it with a passion.

It was played out during head writer Ron Carlivati's One Life to Live years, and I'm not a fan of it now. The actors are doing the best that they can with the material but everyone comes out of this looking badly.

The character that's been done the most damage is Stefan. I don't know what he was supposed to be, but with this the character is almost completely ruined for me, and I actually like the actor. I don't know what the plan is, but hopefully we end this as soon as possible. If not, I don't know if I could ever truly accept the Stefan.

Jack: All of Hong Kong was a bust. Also, JJ getting arrested should be a story, not a plot point no one cares about, especially considering his past and his tendency towards self-criticism and guilt.

And Chad should not be so oblivious that he doesn't question why his wife suddenly needs reading glasses.

Christine: Hong Kong was boring, and Stefan almost having sex with Gabigail was icky. How much of a sleaze is this guy?

Then there was Shawn Douglas, who almost made me ill with his insistent pushing for Hope to forgive Rafe.

And I couldn’t believe that Marlena actually asked Kayla if she was okay right after Steve went completely blind. Of course she’s not okay! Marlena is incredibly poor at her job.

Kayla Confronts Marlena - Days of Our Lives

What was your favorite quote, scene or storyline on this week’s Days of Our Lives?

Silvana: I enjoyed having Chloe back. I love the character and despite my complaints I like the way she's being written. She’s funny, sarcastic, in control, and competent in her business life. She's back into her music and living her life fully.

I'm glad to see her being given an interesting story line that doesn't make her look like some bimbo who just happens to look like Chloe Lane. Hopefully they keep it up.

Jack: Steve and Kayla! Their love and determination to face his health issues together were moving and emotional. This stuff was so good it was like a different show.

Christine: Steve and Kayla were fantastic! It’s so wonderful to see two people who love one another deal with these obstacles like grown ups.

Also, I was thrilled that both JJ and Gabi dumped Lani and Eli, respectively. They didn’t buy into any of their justifications for their lies and didn’t allow themselves to be emotionally manipulated. That made me happy.
