Krypton Season 1 Episode 3 Review: The Rankless Initiative

Seg demonstrates quite the Superman spirit in the latest chapter of Krypton against Brainiac.

Krypton Season 1 Episode 3 also deals with Lyta trying to find a peaceful way of finding Black Zero members in the rankless district.

Something that has been consistent with Krypton Season 1 so far is how much is packed into each episode. But Krypton does it in an impressive way where it doesn't feel exhausting.

I always expected Seg to demonstrate some qualities of his future grandson which we got here. But unlike the Man of Steel, Seg doesn't have super-powers to rely on nor a super suit.

It was enjoyable seeing a Kryptonian with the heart of Superman in action. Although I have to say that Krypton is so far taking its sweet time to give us a lot of Brainiac in the flesh.

But the slow build-up may be in their favor because it allows the story to focus on these new characters. It wouldn't even shock me if Brainiac is somehow factored into Krypton Season 2.

It was impressive seeing Seg, without many resources, take Brainiac on. I think that is what makes Seg such an interesting character.

Given his position on Krypton, his biggest asset is his fighting spirit which I love about his character. But the writers manage to do a solid job in making sure that Seg isn't too much like Kal-El.

Speaking of strong characters, Adam continues to grow on me. I haven't read a lot of Adam in the DC books I have gathered, but Krypton is making me a bigger fan of him.

I will admit that the geek in me had quite the moment when we saw Adam's Zeta technology. However, I have simply one question for Mr. Strange.

How did he travel into the past without thinking about his way back home?! I get that he knows the advanced technology of Krypton, but come on now!

It felt slightly dangerous to see someone make this type of trip and hope that someone in the past could power it up again. But it is a minor nitpick.

Lyta had quite the arc in "The Rankless Initiative", didn't she? I loved to see her take charge and punish that rogue Sagitari.

I could watch Lyta calling Kol-Da out on her lies for an eternity. Also, Kol-Da made it way too obvious in the beginning that she was going to disobey Lyta.

Subtleness isn't one of Kol-Da's strongest sides. The more we keep hearing about Black Zero, the more I want to see that organization.

It was always a concept in the Superman lore that I didn't get too familiar with. But like with Brainiac, I don't mind the slow build-up to seeing more of them.

One thing that I felt bad for when it came to Rhom was Kem barely being part of this story. It was his sister after all and now that her faith is unknown, I was expecting to see him around more.

Maybe the next episode will deal with Kem discovering what happened, but only time will tell. I doubt Rhom will survive though given the nature of Brainiac when he infects someone.

We can't forget to mention that Adam has now revealed himself to Lyta. At this point, Seg better tell Lyta everything about why Adam is here. 

Comic book shows doing the whole secret keeping is overdone anyway these days. Although I bet things will get more complicated once/if Adam tells Seg what happens to Krypton in 200 years.

Speaking of mysteries and secrets, we need to discuss the Voice of Rao! That weird mask only gets creepier and creepier as Krypton Season 1 progresses.

That thing looks heavy and unpractical for a person to wear! The way Krypton is slowly demonstrating its religion fascinates me.

I'm not sure who is supposed to be underneath that mask though. We saw the back of his head, but it gives us no clues to who he may be.

It would not shock me if it's someone big from the DC lore who we have yet to meet. But at the same time, maybe it doesn't need to be some big character under that mask. 

Overall, "The Rankless Initiative" was another solid installment of what has been a strong first season thus far for Krypton. Given the short episode order, they are wasting no time on progressing the important stories.

Krypton Season 1 Episode 2 Review: House of El

Adam Strange continues to make his presence stranger for Seg as Superman's grandfather learns more about his mission.

Krypton Season 1 Episode 2 also focuses heavily on establishing the other houses further, particularly the House of El and Zod.

There is a lot to love in "House of El" from both a character standpoint as well as the story overall. One of them is, without doubt, Adam Strange.

I always expected Krypton to have a very dark tone given that it's a little grittier than the other DC shows. But Adam's presence helps Krypton have a light tone that is appreciated.

I didn't know I needed Kem and Adam interactions until seeing them meet for the first time. For some reason, they work so perfectly good together.

Although let's have a silent moment for Adam's fallen Detroit hat. I have been there where I have had to lose a favorite hat of mine so Adam, your pain is shared.

Something I appreciate with Seg's view of Adam is his skepticism. If a stranger suddenly appeared to tell you that you have a grandson who will be a big deal in the future, I would be hesitant too.

That's why I appreciated Seg testing Adam from the get-go and wanting proof of his story. Even though we as viewers know that Adam is telling the truth, we want the characters on the show to be convinced.  

"House of El" is a highlight for the women from both Vex and Zod. I'm happy that Seg admitted to Lyta that he may have been a little too harsh with her regarding the death of his parents.

But what I loved about Lyta's progression was that it had nothing to do with Seg. This was her story that focused simply on her journey within the House of Zod.

Then we have Nyssa who continues to be this big mystery. I genuinely loved that she allowed Seg to have a traditional funeral for his folks.

Even if she had some motives of her own, I think this makes it trickier to determine if she is a friend or foe. Despite the moment she had with her dad, I don't know where Nyssa stands.

It would be too easy for her if she was on a villainous path. I enjoy how the show makes us question who she is. If there is one takeaway from "House of El", it's that you do not mess with the women on this show.

I love how they are all bad-ass and complex which is what I was expecting with Krypton. I do want to learn more about Jayna as a character as the season progresses.

Seg's journey in "House of El" had many layers, one being emotional. We have to remember that this is still the same day as he lost his family.

I don't know how Seg is doing it, but the fact that he hasn't broken down yet compels me. I do want Seg to get a chance to realistically grieve over the death of his family.

Let's discuss Krypton's version of the Fortress. While it borrows parallels from Superman's story, it still manages to be its own.

I have to say that I wish Jor-El's A.I. had some of Val's kindness in the other versions I have seen. I could go on for hours how Smallville's Jor-El was a bit of a douche.

It was enjoyable to see what Val had in mind with this Fortress and how far he got before his death. I will admit that as a geek, I smirked when they name dropped the Phantom Zone.

We have seen that Kryptonian prison portrayed in other live-action Superman properties before. But something tells me that Krypton's version is going to be on a whole new level.

My favorite part of Seg's journey was him defying the House of Vex. I don't know why, but for some reason, it was incredibly meaningful to see the last member of the House of El get to do that.

Overall, "House of El" lived up to its title as Seg's journey continued to progress nicely. The woman had solid plots too while we continue to learn more about Adam Strange as Brainiac is now already here.

13 Hot Comic Shows We're Anticipating in 2018!!

We are almost four months into 2018 and the comic book action in the world of TV has barely begun! The CW has the Arrowverse shows, Black Lightning, and Riverdale.

Over at FOX, they're busy with mutants over on The Gifted while Gotham and Lucifer fight crime. The Marvel powerhouse at Netflix continues to go strong while Hulu joined the game with The Runaways.

The list goes on because comic book and superhero properties are here to stay! But 2018 still has more exciting things coming up with new and old comic book shows.

Is it hard to keep up with the golden age of superhero TV action? 100% it is! That is why we want to make it easier for you so you don't miss anything of what's coming later this year.

Grab your calendar and take notes. Go through the slides below to find out what comic book TV shows you should be looking forward to later this year!

1. Krypton Season 1

When: Wednesday, March 21

Where: 10/9c on Syfy

What To Know: Smallville won't be the only Superman prequel series in the Man of Steel's long line of TV history. Syfy's Krypton will tell the story of Kal-El's grandfather Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe) and the planet of Krypton before it meets its doom. Krypton Season 1 will show us what happens when Seg-El learns about his future grandson and the role he will play as Earth's greatest savior. But when the villainous Brainiac (Blake Ritson) decides to attempt erasing the Man of Tomorrow from the timeline by going back in time, what will Seg-El do? Will he save his grandson or will he change the faith of Krypton?

2. Constantine The Animated Series

When: Saturday, March 24

Where: CW Seed

What To Know: Matt Ryan's portrayal of DC Comics fan favorite John Constantine is continuing in animated format. Aside from appearing regularly on Legends of Tomorrow, the animated series will follow Constantine as he battles new demons in the supernatural world.

3. Legion Season 2

When: Tuesday, April 3

Where: 10/9c on FX.

What To Know: After the smashing success of Legion Season 1, David Heller (Dan Stevens) returns in the complex X-Men drama. Despite battling his inner demons, the villainous Shadow King still lives as Navid Negahban is set to portray the famous Marvel baddie.

4. Fear The Walking Dead Season 4

When: Sunday, April 15

Where: 10 PM on AMC

What To Know: According to AMC, Fear the Walking Dead Season 4 will follow the Clark family through the new eyes of a familiar face. Morgan Jones (Lennie James) from The Walking Dead is joining the spin-off as the battle continues.

5. Marvel's Cloak & Dagger Season 1

When: Thursday, June 7

Where: 8 PM on Freeform

What To Know: Being one of Marvel Comics' most famous couples, Cloak & Dagger tells the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph), two teenagers who will together deal with their newly found superpowers as well as the love for one another.

6. Marvel's Luke Cage Season 2

When: Friday, June 22

Where: Netflix

What To Know: Luke Cage Season 2 features our beloved Power Man as a celebrity superhero of Harlem. But new evil forces are lurking around the corner as Bushmaster (Mustafa Shakir) jumps from the pages of the comics into the live-action series.

Krypton Season 1 Episode 1 Review: Pilot

The newest Superman prequel takes us back 200 years as we meet the Man of Steel's grandfather.

Krypton Season 1 Episode 1 is all about establishing Seg-El and a side of Krypton we have never seen.

When the show was first announced I will admit that I was hesitant. Why make a Superman show about Clark's grandfather?!

But those doubts disappeared quickly after seeing the first trailers. The pilot did, without a doubt, go past my expectations.

From a visual standpoint, we are seeing a completely new Krypton, past how Superman movies have portrayed it with crystals until Man of Steel changed that.

It helps that David Goyer, writer of Man of Steel, has a part in the design of Krypton. It feels in tune with the movie while still maintaining its own aesthetic.

Syfy must have paid a fortune for this budget! Seeing how cinematic it was made me stoked to continue watching this story unfold.

Cameron Cuffe is an excellent lead character as he portrays Seg, a complex member of the House of El. Seg is now the only member which must sting for him.

Having seen other El members in other Superman media, Seg is for sure quite different. His rough edges and bad boy attitude will make him stand out from his future relatives.

I was not expecting the House of El to be in the position it is currently is in Krypton Season 1. The fact that it has been dissolved shocked me.

That will make Seg's arc much more compelling, as he restores order to his house. I wish we had gotten to know his parents better before they got executed.

It felt somewhat rushed, but with a 10-episode season, the story has to move quickly. The House of Vex compels me, though.

Given that they don't exist in the comics, Krypton as a show has the freedom to take it anywhere. While Brainiac may be the big bad for Krypton Season 1, Daron will be a more personal antagonist for Seg.

While Daron is someone who has to grow on me, I'm intrigued by Nyssa! I don't know if she is a friend or a foe, but I like that she is a force to be reckoned with.

She is slick, but someone you should not underestimate. I'm in love with the House of Zod women already.

Jayne is fierce and ruthless which sets her up to be our General Zod in this timeline. I was hoping for more with Lyta in the premiere.

The twist that Jayne would end up killing Seg's parents was a shock. I don't know if the breakup was necessary, but hey what can you do.

I get the hatred towards Jayne from Seg, but why punish Lyta? But at the same time, this is foreshadowing the rivalry between El and Zod in the future.

I'm all about Shaun Sipos' Adam Strange. Although what the hell was going on with him when he disappeared like that?!

Is he actually on Krypton or is he projecting? That is a mystery the second episode should ideally answer right away.

I have a lot of questions about Val-El that makes me wish he hadn't been killed off so soon. But I will give props to Ian McElhinney for making his presence felt across the whole premiere.

I would not be shocked if we do see Val-El somehow back in later episodes. If Seg now has access to Val's fortress, what if he is an A.I?

That would foreshadow how Jor-El eventually becomes part of Kal-El's journey. Given the high advance of technology, Krypton can do a lot!

The one thing that I was stoked to see that we only got a glimpse of was Brainiac. If you don't know much about Brainiac, then you will see why he is one of Superman's greatest foes.

Visually, they nailed Brainiac's look. We got a glimpse into his ship and that was a nerdgasm of itself! 

How many worlds has he conquered at this point? Because he is from the present, there are so many questions that I have about him and his timeline.

Overall, Krypton is off to a fantastic start already as the latest DC TV show to join the franchise. The characters are compelling, the visual look of Krypton is phenomenal, and we have a strong villain coming.

Arrow Season 6 Episode 15 Review: Doppelganger

If there is one lesson to take away from Arrow Season 6 Episode 15 it is that things are not slowing down anytime soon.

Especially as the Dragon is now rising in Ricardo Diaz who is beginning his take over of Star City and the fall of Oliver Queen.

I have been stoked for "Doppelganger" ever since it was announced that Roy Harper was returning. Colton Haynes was always one of the best parts of Arrow when he was on.

But what had me more stoked was what this would do for Thea's storyline. A storyline that has been lacking for most of Arrow Season 6 sadly, excluding her coma trip.

It was beautiful to be reminded of how strong Thea's love for Roy was. She has lost a lot of people over the years and Roy is one of the last few people in her life she has left.

Haynes and Willa Holland's chemistry was also something I had missed seeing for years. The minute they were reunited, it took me back to that happy place with Arrow.

Oliver and Felicity may be Arrow's official power couple, but to me, it was always Roy and Thea. These two are more believable as a couple than any other pairing that I have seen on this show.

I will admit that I was hoping to get to see Roy kick some butt with Thea. But maybe we will see that in a few weeks. My dream is still to see Arsenal and Speedy both suited up at the same time.

If there is one thing that "Doppelganger" did for Thea, it was teasing her potential exit from the series. From Oliver's suggestion that they leave to the final scene at the end, I think we know how this is ending.

I'm almost convinced that this new League of Assassins will be something that Thea leads. But unlike Malcolm and Ra's al Ghul, she may lead it to something more positive.

If it was up to me, I would love if the new League consisted of only women. I don't know how this will go down, but I suspect Thea will end up leading that League with Roy by her side.

As far as Speedy goes, it was awesome seeing her back in action. Can you believe it has been more than a year since we saw Thea back in the suit?!

"Doppelganger" also served as a big story for the doppelganger herself, Laurel Lance a.k.a. Black Siren. I can only imagine how much fun Katie Cassidy must have had shooting this episode.

Her sob story to the press and Siren's performance as Earth-1 Laurel was hilarious. It gives you an idea of how Siren perceives her Earth-1 counterpart which is very funny.

Her business with Diaz is questionable, to say the least. I don't know why, but I don't think it is that simple that she is back in cahoots with him.

Despite coming off as a double agent, I think she is playing Diaz big time. Siren is most likely going to hold her word to Oliver while trying to take Diaz down from the inside.

I could see her doing it for selfish reasons though, given that she now has to act as Earth-1 Laurel. It would be a shame if the writers don't go through with this redemption arc they have been teasing.

The big take away is the fact that Diaz is finally getting to play a larger role on the show. Don't get me wrong, I appreciated what Michael Emerson did as Cayden James.

But Kirk Acevedo brings more intensity and suspense as a big bad than Cayden ever did. Diaz makes me legit scared while Cayden never did it for me.

The idea that Diaz has corrupted Star City, even more, presents an intriguing struggle for Oliver. Who can he really turn to as the mayor?

The current police force is out of the question, that's for sure. Only time will tell how the writers will conclude all of this.

Overall, "Doppelganger" was one of the stronger episodes since the winter hiatus ended. It gave us a lot of strong stuff for Thea and Laurel while also rising Diaz further to the top.

Arrow Season 6 Episode 14 Review: Collision Course

Team Arrow and Team Canary go nuclear with each other all because of Black Siren.

But it comes with a significant cost or two which makes the conflict even worse between the two teams.

I have seen a lot of drama on Arrow throughout its many seasons. Arrow Season 6 Episode 14 officially joins that list because things got way too insane!

This storyline is one hell of a mixed bag to watch as Arrow Season 6 progresses. I think I was more open to the idea of having two teams at the start when Dinah wasn't insanely hostile.

But now I'm over it because it is coming at a lot of expense that is not worth it. While I haven't lost my love for Dinah, I'm disappointed with what has been done to her.

Seeing her running around yelling over and over again how she wants to kill Laurel is ridiculous. Even though I know she has been willing to kill in the past, this feels forced.

This is why I hate that Vincent was revealed as the Vigilante. Some stupid man ruined one of Arrow's coolest female characters because of reasons.

This is especially true since we know that they didn't plan for Vincent to be Vigilante from the start. Even though we know Dinah will never kill Black Siren, it's the constant hunt that is dumb.

Speaking of ruining characters, we need to talk about Curtis freaking Holt. After "Collision Course," I feel 100% bad for John Diggle being stuck on this show.

It felt out of character for Curtis to use Diggle's chip to track them when he knew the cost. That is not what the Curtis that I fell in love with would do!

That is another reason why Dinah's behavior became too much through this story. She was even willing to put Diggle through pain only to find Siren.

Diggle is the same man who took care of her when she first joined the team. Clearly, Dinah has forgotten all about it, and that was horrible to watch.

It broke my heart that Curtis was willing to use Diggle like that when it could have killed him. Normally, Felicity's reactions can be too much, but she was spot on here.

That is the major problem with this storyline. A lot of these characters are being unlikeable because the plot dictates it.

I don't think the team we saw at the start of Arrow Season 6 would get here. They would have worked it out like mature adults without weapons, costumes, and fighting.

It comes down to Black Siren and the two team's respective views on her. It is complicated because she looks like the friend they lost two years ago.

I think Quentin was the one character whose writing made sense and felt organic. It didn't make him look stupid because we did see at many points how Siren was willing to collaborate.

It was until the point when she almost died that she had to strike back. To be honest, I don't blame her one bit.

It felt random that she wanted to leave the country instead of going back to Earth-2. Though I suppose she doesn't have much of a life there anymore given that her Oliver is dead.

That is why we need one episode where we see what her life was like over there. We put up with flashbacks all the time; why not give us a backstory that needs to be explained?

I have to give the writers credit for giving us one crazy redemption story for her. The idea that she is going to pretend to be Earth-1 Laurel can go either way.

This may be a crazy suggestion but think about it for a minute. Are they breaking this Black Canary so that Black Siren can be redeemed?

Because God forbid that we have two Black Canaries at the same time, that is absurd. I love both of them, and as much as I want Siren redeemed, I don't want Dinah to be ruined as a result.

I look forward to seeing what Laurel will do next and how she will explain to people about suddenly being alive. The Earth-1 Laurel was declared dead publicly by Oliver, after all, to the whole city.

But logic hasn't always been one of Arrow's strengths, so I'm sure she will have some explanation. Where the hell was Ricardo Diaz during all of this madness?

Overall, "Collision Course" was a rough episode from start to finish. While the setup for Siren's redemption is getting more exciting, the drama between the teams needs to come to an end.

Arrow Season 6 Episode 13 Review: The Devil's Greatest Trick

The latest chapter of Arrow is all about Cayden James as Michael Emerson's wicked hacker comes full circle.

But Arrow Season 6 Episode 13 sets up what will be the definitive arc for the remainder of Arrow Season 6.

If Arrow wanted to, this could have been a season finale. Because that is exactly what "The Devil's Greatest Trick" felt like.

While "The Devil's Greatest Trick" does have a lot of strengths, it came with some bad points. One of them being the possible fall of Dinah Drake.

In the last review, I spoke about how Arrow would never have any Laurel Lance be killed again. I believed that because why would they ruin this new Black Canary by killing Black Siren?

But then I remembered that this is Arrow where I don't always get what I want. Despite her efforts, we didn't have to see yet another death scene featuring Katie Cassidy.

God bless Quentin for coming through! But this still doesn't put Dinah in a good light. This is a crazy theory but it almost feels like the writers are trying to have Dinah and Laurel swap roles.

We are indeed seeing the beginning of Black Siren's redemption story. But what we're also seeing is the start of Dinah possibly being villainized so that Laurel can be saved.

I will never understand Arrow's lack of having multiple women shine at once. It seems only one character, if not two, is allowed to be in the spotlight if you're a woman.

I wish Arrow would sometimes look at Supergirl for inspiration. That show allows many women to shine at the same time.

What also doesn't sit well with me was Dinah being willing to put Quentin through that heartbreak again. Arrow seriously needs to cut the "she is not your daughter!" crap.

Regardless if this is Laurel of Earth-2 or Earth-32, this is a Laurel no matter what. I have loved Dinah up until this point because this is a serious insult to Quentin.

Especially after how he finally approved of her as being worthy to take the Black Canary mantle. While I'm happy that Laurel is alive, it stings that Dinah as a character crossed that line.

I never expected Cayden to be the big bad for the whole year. I knew that at some point he would fall and that someone else would take over.

But before we get to that, let's talk about how amazing Emerson was. While Cayden's actions can't be justified, it was genuinely heartbreaking to see how this man got to this point.

He never intended to kill when leading Helix. Seeing Cayden as the loving father that he was, I did feel bad for the guy. Once again, that doesn't excuse him for wanting to blow Star City up!

But I did feel that the character was starting to run out of juice. "The Devil's Greatest Trick" was the perfect stop for Cayden, even though he did get brutally killed.

Speaking of the killer...Ricardo Diaz is stepping up big time! Ever since Kirk Acevedo got cast as Richard Dragon, I have been waiting for a moment like this.

I always imagined he would become the big bad by conducting something big. Killing Cayden made a lot of sense because that was one of the few ways for him to get there.

We have seen many villains wanting to destroy Star City, but not many who have wanted to run it. That's why I feel that Ricardo will be refreshing as a big bad for the rest of Arrow Season 6.

I wouldn't even be surprised if he publicly is known as Richard Dragon. But continues to operate as Ricardo Diaz in the criminal world. Either way, I'm crazy excited for Ricardo!

Overall, "The Devil's Greatest Trick" was one of the stronger episodes since Arrow came back from winter break. The Cayden James saga got a solid conclusion with Ricardo now taking over.

The only issue was Dinah stepping over he line. Whether or not she can come back from that remains to be seen when Arrow returns next month.

The Flash Season 4 Episode 13 Review: True Colors

The Flash decided to get inspired by Prison Break in the latest chapter when Barry Allen must team-up with the bus-metahumans.

But The Flash Season 4 Episode 13 also deals with Ralph Dibny discovering a new conveniently amazing ability.

Did anyone else need a serious breather after watching "True Colors"? Because The Flash Season 4 just went into hyper-drive!

Given how wack this storyline started out it could only end in a wacky way. I mean that in both good and bad ways.

I never thought once in the last years that I'd ever get to see Barry Allen trying to break out of jail. But here we are and the prison breakout was the story that worked the best.

Although I'm lost on how Clifford got security cameras into Iron Heights. Did he have some deal with Wolfe that we didn't know of?

I get that Clifford is super-smart and all. But darn it at some point The Flash need to give us some answers on how he does everything.

Using the "he is the smartest man alive" card over and over again won't do it for me. But for now, I'll go along with it once again.

We got to discuss Ralph's new power that is a mixed bag to me. In the comics, Ralph does indeed have the power to disguise his face to a degree.

I think the writers choose to go a step further for the TV version. If I can accept talking sharks and gorillas, then I suppose I can accept this too.

It's not the weirdest thing in the world that Ralph can shape-shift. If he can stretch to all these lengths and sizes then why not?

I do think the timing was hilariously convenient. The end result was fine for what it was because it got Barry out in the end.

Seeing Ralph trying to dupe Amunet as Wolfe was crazy funny which I don't mind. Did it get a little too silly at points?

Absolutely, but at least it was entertaining in a non-annoying way. It did also come with some stakes as Ralph failed the first time around.

Which is where we get one of the few, but big issues with "True Colors." What is going on with Ralph's on-and-off self-esteem problem lately?

Is this Ralph's way of showing his inner humanity that we've only begun to scratch the surface of? I suppose I appreciate it, but it comes at the weirdest times.

When he first debuted, he was non-stop sure of himself. Perhaps his training into a hero is making him realize the bigger stakes of being a superhero.

Once again, I don't mind that he is becoming more human. It is simply the timing that felt a little off, but maybe I'm nitpicking too much.

It was funny to see Killer Frost be the one to get him to snap out of that funk. Apparently so much that he was capable to shape-shift into the real Clifford DeVoe.

There were only a few ways they could have concluded Barry's prison arc without making it feel like a cop-out. Having a metahuman pose as the real DeVoe works for me.

After all, the real DeVoe is technically still alive and he had his original body fake a death. Does Ralph's timing of gaining this ability feel too convenient? 100%.

But we're beyond the middle of The Flash Season 4 now so we had to get Barry out. However, DeVoe is still in the game in the most confusing way ever.

Did he kill those bus-metas without taking their powers? Or did he take them before they died and we have yet to find out?

I don't know how to feel about DeVoe moving from Dominic to Becky. Hazard was the bus-meta who I liked the least because she was straight-up annoying.

Did anyone else wonder how the heck Marlize is dealing with all of this? "True Colors" left me with more questions than answers!

I wish there wasn't a stupid hiatus because it is hard to know how to feel about all of this! This twist can be a strong move or it might be the one thing that drags down the whole season.

Overall, "True Colors" was one of the heavier episodes of the season so far. While sad to see so many of the bus-metas die, I do want to see how Becky as DeVoe plays out.

I'm slightly worried for Ralph going into the rest of the season since DeVoe is targeting bus-metas. But with Barry back in the world of freedom, at least he will stand a chance.

Arrow Season 6 Episode 12 Review: All For Nothing

The latest chapter of Arrow shows that Cayden James' team may not be as stable as he thought it was.

But despite the small victory, Arrow Season 6 Episode 12 came with a steep cost for one of our players.

Remember when we were free from flashbacks? Me too, and for some reason "All For Nothing" felt the need to end that streak.

That is one of the major reasons why the episode is a mixed bag for me. I'm all for learning more about Dinah's life before getting her powers, but when the flashback is dull as heck, including her backstory with Vincent? It feels like a waste of flashback scenes for her.

That was always one of the bigger problems for Arrow when they did regular flashbacks. On paper, the story might seem intriguing, but they were usually never executed well.

It is hard to take the whole Vigilante story seriously when I never had any attachment to him. He was simply a background obstacle during Arrow Season 5.

Even with his identity revealed during Arrow Season 6, I couldn't care for him. Hence the reason why his death didn't do much for me.

There are only two things to take away from his death. One is that it hurts seeing Dinah heartbroken because she doesn't deserve this. The other is that Black Siren was clearly not happy killing him.

I don't believe his meta-ability will get him back to life. Why would his skin turn that way if he supposedly survived and healed? It would take away the stake in this story if he somehow survived. 

Although the downside from his death is Dinah's quest to kill everyone on Cayden's team. That is so far the only aspect of the new Black Canary that I don't like.

As far as I remember, Earth-1 Laurel was the only Canary who never killed. Sara did and we have seen Dinah do it, too, and I'm not a fan.

As much as I love Dinah, I did find her desire to kill Black Siren first hilarious. Let's be real here people, do you think Arrow would have the balls to kill another Laurel Lance?

Do me a favor if you sincerely believe that. Google "Arrow Season 4," "Black Canary Death," and "Controversy," which will make it clear why they would never do it again. Why do you think they introduced a new Laurel so quickly over on The Flash after her death on Arrow Season 4?

As far as the rest of Cayden's cabal goes, I'm sure Dinah won't have any trouble taking them down. I would prefer if they don't have this Black Canary killing people. It is still incredibly bizarre to see a Black Canary who uses a gun.

On the subject of Black Siren, I smell redemption in the air. Quentin may not have much to do on this show these days, but I'm loving that arc right now.

Since the start, I wanted Quentin to be the one to believe that this Laurel can be saved. The sequence of her looking at the life of Earth-1 Laurel was one of the most powerful moments of Arrow's run.

Although I do find it hilarious how in their world they would justify where they got all that footage. Who was filming Black Canary so much and getting photos that up close and personal to her?

It's barely a nitpick and more of a funny thought when you think deeply about it.

Despite killing Vincent, we are beginning to see Black Siren crack, and Cayden can tell. Whether this will be a slow or fast burn, changes are coming for Black Siren.

If this had been at the start of the season, she would have been smiling like crazy after killing Vincent. But the fact that Siren didn't shows that Quentin managed to get through to her.

Why can't they do a flashback episode for Black Siren where we see her life on Earth-2? That is a backstory worth telling rather than Dinah's backstory with Vincent. Once again, I want to learn more about Dinah but not when it's wasted on telling this love story that I never bought completely.

Last, but not least, we have to talk about the "evidence" that Cayden got of his son's death. Dear God, Cayden fell for that?!

Go back and watch Arrow online and you'll see how cheap it looks. How could someone as smart as Cayden fall for that?

I'm sure in short order Felicity and Alena will have found a way to figure it out. But it looked absolutely ridiculous. Let's not forget the part about how Oliver wasn't in Star City that day Cayden's son died!

Overall "All For Nothing" was a solid episode that had just as many ups as it had downs. Dinah's emotional journey was powerful up to the point when she got back on her killing mode again.

The beginning of Black Siren's redemption arc is something I can't wait to see continue. While Cayden's fall will happen slowly, at least now he knows that this cabal may not be the team-up he wanted.

Arrow Season 6 Episode 11 Review: We Fall

Cayden James isn't kidding around as that is made clear in the latest chapter of Arrow.

But Arrow Season 6 Episode 11 also features Oliver having to step up as a dad to William when a not-so-secretive secret is revealed.

I should have known years ago that at some point in Arrow's run, we'd see a big bad who was all about cyber-hacking. Luckily, we have Michael Emerson who is pulling that off role with grace.

Although it takes away the idea of Arrow Season 6 having multiple baddies as equal main villains. Because that was the idea they were hinting at the start of the season!

It also makes it look hilarious that certain weeks we don't see Black Siren and Ricardo Diaz around. What could they be up to while Cayden is, you know, terrorizing the city like nobody's business?

It's not something you exactly take a break away from! But hey I didn't take "How To B A Villain 101" in high school so what do I know.

Although is this the only way Cayden can strike the team? Because haven't we had plenty of villains in the past attacking Star City?

I will accept Arrow recycling this storyline though because it has a different angle this time. Where did Cayden supposedly get "evidence" that Oliver did kill his son?

If our hero was busy recruiting Dinah last year at the time his son died, then someone must have faked that evidence. What if Adrian Chase posed as Green Arrow and got Cayden's kid killed to frame Ollie for it?

That is right now the only theory that would work. Although realistically, how many nights in a row will Oliver be able to wire over $10 million dollars until they're broke?

Something that Arrow Season 6 Episode 11 dealt with was William finding out about his daddy's secret. For a teenager, William sure took the news well as I was 100% convinced we'd see a classic teenage outburst.

But instead, we got what I felt was a well-written way to tackle that storyline. Although let's be real here, it was all thanks to Felicity that William was able to be so understanding.

I don't think our boy in green would have been able to do handle this if it hadn't been for her. The way Arrow is tackling Felicity being William's stepmother hasn't restricted her to have that as her only storyline.

That's something I'm extremely appreciative of because I don't want another re-run of Arrow Season 4. Felicity is more than a love-interest and now that she is Oliver's wife, that's more important than ever to remember.

Speaking of important things, what is going on with Vincent? I don't buy his story of being a double-agent, I think he is only saying that to get to Dinah. I feel that at any point this season, he can turn on them again and instead be a triple-agent.

Also, why work with Cayden if you are the Vigilante? He could take him out in a heartbeat given his track record! It feels odd that he has to even be a double-agent when he could put an end to this so easily.

Something that I'd enjoy quite a lot is if other members begin to turn on Cayden. This is where I could easily see Black Siren begin her redemption arc by joining her Earth-1 father's side.

I still don't think we have gotten to see more of Ricardo Diaz as he is simply there in the background. Richard Dragon (his comic name) is a decent big deal in the Green Arrow mythos so I expect the show to honor that.

In addition to that, you have Kirk Acevedo so put him to good use! Hopefully, he is getting some bigger focus in the coming episodes.

Something else I appreciated was Diggle addressing his feelings about Oliver being back in the suit. It's 100% understandable how he was hoping to get to suit up as Green Arrow again once he got the nerve damage taken care of.

After all, we saw how difficult it was for him to take on that role. I would be pretty annoyed too if it that was all for nothing. But at the same time, how great does his new Spartan suit look?

I'm not sure when Cisco would have had time to make it, but I guess anything for his pal Oliver. The ending of "We Fall" lived up to the episode's title, which I'm relieved about.

It's always annoying when an episode has this big meaningful title and then fails to live up to it. I'm still worried though how many nights Oliver is going to have to wire over $10 million dollars to Cayden until they're broke.

Overall, "We Fall" was a powerful episode that is increasing the stakes for Arrow Season 6 more than ever. Cayden continues to be an impressive villain, even though we hope to see the other baddies get some spotlight.
