The Terror Season 1 Episode 7 Review: Horrible From Supper

Cornelius Hickey has lost his mind.

The once charming Mr. Hickey revealed himself to the be the true monster of the expedition when he murdered two of his fellow men on The Terror Season 1 Episode 7. 

He was just itching to thrust his knife into someone, and the food problem gave him the perfect excuse to begin his own reign of terror.

I could be wrong, but it seems that Hickey was escaping from something when he joined the expedition. He might have been looking for adventure, but that might not necessarily have been the case.

Hickey's got some serious issues. Eating another man is an act of desperation, but Hickey seems to think of it as sport. 

I don't know who Hickey carved up and put in that bag he threw at the other guy's feet in the tent, but he was too willing to indulge in the act of cannibalism to avoid starvation.

The men aren't even starving yet. They need to find another source of food quickly before more of them go crazy, but no one else is thinking along the same lines as Hickey.

He's an island unto himself.

He might have seemed somewhat sane earlier, but dancing shirtless around his fresh kills was definitely a sign of crazy.

I don't believe this is the first time he's killed. He's done it before. He was way too comfortable with the knife, and he was way too excited when he killed Irving.

It wouldn't surprise me if he were a mass murderer before joined the crew of the Terror.

The lead poisoning in the food isn't the reason Hickey is doing what he's doing. He's doing what he's doing because he's insane.

The group of Inuits that Irving was talking to might be in danger, but the older man with the mask might be the one to sense some sort of danger.

I hope they get out of there before Hickey goes nuts with his knife. If he kills all of them, he'll have enough food for an army, but right now they are a non-issue.

The real issue is what he's going to do with Irving and the other guy. Is he planning to use them as food? How will he even get away with it?

I was half expecting Hickey to turn around with blood all over his face from eating that other guy when Irving came upon him.

There's a possibility that the lead is affecting his brain, but as I mentioned earlier, I believe he's always been a murderer and was only waiting for the perfect excuse to start doing his dirty deeds.

The Tuunbaq hasn't reared its ugly head for quite some time, and the men are starting to feel confident the thing got killed during its run-in with Blanky, but we know it's not true.

Why the Tuunbaq hasn't come around is anyone's guess, but it could be because Lady Silence is keeping it at bay.

Either way, the nightmare is far from over for the men even if they are making progress.

I'm not sure exactly why Lady Silence is still with them or even why she showed up at the disastrous party, but she's feeling mighty comfortable being in their midst.

It was surprising to see her lay with Goodsir to try to comfort him. She remembered how kind he was to her and wanted to repay the favor.

I'm not sure anyone else would see it that way, but there's a definite connection between her and Dr. Goodsir. It's going to be interesting to see how it plays out and whether or not that connection will protect him when the Tuunbaq strikes again -- and you know it's going to return at some point.

Francis is going to have a real problem on his hands once the word gets out that the food is rotten. The men have already seen the results of lead poisoning, and it wasn't pretty.

What he should do is use Lady Silence as a resource. He should realize that she might be able to give them tips on how to find food. I don't get why he hasn't approached her for some help.

The group might be on land, but there has to be a food source somewhere. If not, Hickey's killing rampage might be the solution they'll need to survive!

The Arrangement Season 2 Episode 7 Review: On Location

It's getting harder and harder to root for Megan when she won't do anything to change her situation.

I don't know what the repercussions would be for a breach of contract, but whatever they were would probably be much better than continuing to live in Kyle's lie.

On The Arrangement Season 2 Episode 7, he basically told her he wouldn't budge on changing anything in their contract though he relented later on.

If Megan were smart, she'd realize there's something very hokey about Kyle West. There's a history to Kyle we know nothing about. It's a dark history that pushed Lisbeth away, but whether Megan will learn what it is is anyone's guess.

She's seriously starting to piss me off, and the more this sob story drags out, the less interested I am in her future well being. She's not doing anything to help herself, and it's getting boring.

She had every right to be upset about not getting the role, but to lash out at Kyle about only being his robotic arm piece was incredible. She knew what she was in for when she signed the contract.

She needs to stop playing the victim. And she needs to have her head examined because I can't believe how quickly she got over her anger and made up with Kyle.

Has she no pride?

It seems ridiculous that Leslie wouldn't have realized a non-compete clause would cause serious complication in Megan's career. She may think she's Megan's friend and is looking out for her best interest, but I don't think she is.

Leslie may have seen it as a huge opportunity for Megan, but she also saw it as a massive opportunity for herself. 

It was weird that Deann let Leslie stay on set. Even stranger was Deann and Leslie having drinks and talking about the situation. 

IHM is the reason Leslie is no longer Megan's agent so why would Deann hang out with her? It doesn't fit.

IHM doesn't like their clients to still have connections with people from their past (unless they have converted like Shaun), so what is Deann's endgame by including Leslie in everything going on?

I get the feeling that Deann isn't all that into IHM anymore so that may be one reason, but if Terence found out about Leslie, I don't think he'd be too happy.

I'm not even sure what Deann is doing anymore? She was upset that Terence approached Wes about IHM, but then turned around and had sex with him because she was ovulating.

Has IHM messed her up that much that she can't be consistent with her thoughts?

It was ridiculous when Terence told her Wes wanted to know more about IHM. It was an obvious lie. Ordinary people don't start asking about cults out of the clear blue. 

Terence approached him, and Deann knew it. If she were a devout IHM believer, she would have been thrilled, but she wasn't so what's her deal.

Does she know that she can't escape? She has to know the terrible things Terence is capable of so that may be a reason she was going along with the program.

It still doesn't answer why she's willing to have a baby with the crazy man. Why did she even tell him she was ovulating?

Shaun, all of a sudden, taking Zach's words to heart was also odd. She had been high on Terence and IHM for a while now that it seemed out of character for her to start searching for Julie.

I certainly never got the feeling that she was questioning anything Terence or IHM was feeding her.

But maybe this whole immortality thing (which I don't quite understand where this storyline is going) is too over the top for her. Not even IHM's board of directors was willing to fly with that craziness.

And anyone who decides to go along and believes that IHM has the key to immortality is beyond help. There wouldn't be enough reprogramming available to help those individuals so their best bet would be to stay in Terence's cult.

Kyle isn't going to be leaving the cult anytime soon. Neither is he going to be honest with Megan. Whatever he's hiding has to be a doozy, but will we ever learn what kind of crazy is in Kyle's past?

Gotham Season 4 Episode 19 Review: To Our Deaths and Beyond

The Terror Season 1 Episode 5 Review: First Shot A Winner, Lads

Despite the fact that Captain Crozier acted like a huge baby on The Terror Season 1 Episode 5, there's something about him that makes me want to give him a big, fat hug. 

It's hard not to feel sorry for the guy even if his only answer to his dire situation is to drown his sorrows in whiskey.

But it didn't take him long to come to the conclusion he needed to step up and be the man in charge -- and that means facing his demons head-on.

It's understandable that he feels trapped. The worst winter of his life is upon him, and there's nowhere to go. It's enough to make anyone crazy, but the addition of a supernatural monster makes everything even bleaker.

I'd throw a temper tantrum, too. And that's all Crozier's outburst was -- a big temper tantrum that, unfortunately, cost Mr. Blanky his leg and gave the crew a whole slew of new nightmares.

Seeing Mr. Blanky almost get torn up by the Tuunbaq was like a long-awaited bitch slap that Crozier desperately needed. It sobered him up mighty quickly.

He's never going to forgive himself for ordering his loyal friend to go out and "watch the ice" because the whole situation angered him with Fitzjames and Lady Silence.

If he put one of his closest men in horrendous danger because of a lapse in judgment caused by drinking, what else was he capable of doing if he was in a constant drunken state?

He knew the only solution was to quit drinking and face the demons from which he was so desperately trying to hide.

Crozier is more scared than he's ever been in his entire life. 

I'm not quite sure why he let Lady Silence run off into the night without sending anyone after her. It could be because he felt Mr. Blanky's safety was more important than capturing a woman who saw too far into his soul.

She laid him bare in front of Fitzjames and the others, and it angered him.

Does Crozier want to die because of Sophia's unrequited love, or has he always been seeking death?

Could that be the reason he always wanted to be at sea, hoping that it would swallow him whole and end his misery?

You have to wonder if a part of him wishes the monster would kill him so he could be free, but he knows it's not going to happen that way.

He's doomed to live the rest of his short life in terror watching his men get mauled and killed by the thing that stalks them.

Not having whiskey to numb his mind is going to be tough, and he knows it. That is why he told Fitzjames and the others that he's going to be unwell for some time.

But he's not planning on fighting it all by himself. He expects them to cater to his every need while he goes through the horror of his withdrawal.

I can't imagine that Fitzjames is going to be very sympathetic towards Crozier. He doesn't like the guy and won't have any patience for what's about to come. 

Fitzjames is going to have a lot on his plate because not only is there the monster to deal with, but there are issues with the ship's food supply and that little thing called scurvy.

He isn't going to have time to babysit Crozier and his nightmares.

The perfect person to take care of Crozier would actually be Dr. Goodsir. He is a kind and gentle soul and would try hard to understand Crozier's pain. He would do everything he could to help Crozier battle his demons.

Dr. Goodsir is going to be the only sane one left on either ship. He knows they have more to worry about than just the Tuunbaq. If the food is going bad, it's going to make a miserable situation even worse.

Too bad the monkey had to be his test subject, but he needs to know. However, even when his suspicions are confirmed, what course of action will there be? What other sources of food do they have?

Monster, starvation or disease? The outlook is dismal for all of them.

The Arrangement Season 2 Episode 6 Review: The Break Up

Megan should cash in her chips and call it a day.

Kyle made it very clear on The Arrangement Season 2 Episode 6 that he'll never sever ties with Terence because without him Kyle would not exist.

Terence brought Kyle back from the brink of suicide, and it's something that Kyle will never forget.

Like he said, Terence saved his life.

Megan has no chance of breaking the spell Kyle is under. He's so wrapped up in the idea that Terence is his savior that he's never going to be able to break free. Even learning the truth about Lisbeth and Terence wouldn't be enough to break that spell.

Terence would lie, and Kyle would believe him because that's how messed up Kyle is.

Kyle is drowning in the Kool-Aid, and there's no way out. Call me cold-hearted, but I wouldn't waste my time anymore. I don't believe that Megan loves Kyle enough to risk her life the way that she is right now.

If she walked away, she'd ruin her career, but she needs to save herself before it's too late.

There are too many things pulling at her. Shaun is not to be trusted, and it's up in the air whether or not Zach is trustworthy.

The best thing for Megan to do is get out and let IHM, Terence, and all the rest of them live in their self-created craziness.

Megan can't destroy them all by herself anyway. She can't take down Terence all by herself. She can't even do it with Gail, Gene, or Zach (if they're to be trusted), or even Julia -- if they ever find her.

The machine is too powerful, and Megan doesn't have enough support to tear it apart.

Besides that, why does she want to continue working in a toxic environment where you're told you don't matter by the man your future husband worships? 

Those were some harsh words Terence threw at her, and it wasn't the first time he's been mean to her.

Continuing to tolerate that kind of behavior from anyone only makes her look more foolish. After everything she's been through with Kyle and IHM, when is enough going to be enough?

It's frustrating watching her spin her wheels for a man and a career that only exists because of an arrangement she made with a man.

Where is her pride?

I have no admiration for a woman who puts herself in a situation like that. Megan's only focus should be finding ways to get out of this mess. Forget about saving Kyle West. Forget about taking down Terence and IHM. Save yourself, Megan!

Kyle gave her the perfect opportunity to walk away when he told her she'd never be his lifeline. She will never be number one in his life, and if she didn't believe it before, she better believe it now because Kyle spelled it out plain and simple.

He loves her, but not enough for him to depend on her in times of crisis. That privilege goes to Terence, and that's where it's going to stay.

Kyle has obvious issues, mental and otherwise. His epiphany after his wild motorcycle ride that he was the one who was starring opposite Megan in the film was born out of jealousy no matter what he tells himself.

I still don't get the connection between Xavier and Megan and don't see whatever chemistry Kyle is seeing. I think he's imagining it because of what happened with Lisbeth.

There hasn't been enough time with Xavier for me to be convinced that Megan cares so much about him that she would chase after him when Kyle fired him. She should have just called him on the phone.

The only saving grace to that situation is that Xavier knows that something is not quite right at the farm and might become the one person Megan will be able to rely on to keep her from the brink of insanity.

Or at least to shake some sense into her that none of what she's doing is worth it.

Someone needs to shake her awake before it's too late.

The Arrangement Season 2 Episode 5 Review: You Are Not Alone

Megan took the plunge on The Arrangement Season 2 Episode 5 when she decided to meet with Zach's friends who seem to be on her same wavelength. 

Gabe and Gail are still members of IHM, but they don't like Terence and want to bring him down, just like Megan. 

But can they be trusted?

It was reassuring that Gail was as suspicious of Megan as Megan was of them. It's a tricky business, but Gabe was right when he said they have to stop living in fear. 

It still could be an elaborate setup by Terence to see what's up Megan's sleeve, but at this point, Gail and Gabe seem to be telling the truth. They are as disgusted with Terence as Megan.

Megan is tired of Terence controlling Kyle's life. Kyle is probably tired of Terence controlling his life, but he doesn't know how to get out from under Terence's thumb.

He still feels he owes everything to Terence and doesn't want to do anything to upset the balance. 

Kyle sees things through Megan's fresh eyes. Terence might have helped Kyle redefine his narrative, but everything Kyle has become has been because of himself. Terence has just been riding Kyle's coattails.

Megan is going to have a hard time convincing Kyle of that, though. He loves her, but he's loyal to Terence even if he doesn't always agree with him or like what Terence is doing (or forcing on him).

Having Megan and Kyle do an interview on national TV about IHM was a way for Terence to spread his wings. He wants to be as far-reaching as Jesus. It's a thought that has crossed his mind, but it wasn't until he was at Shaun's church that it really sunk in.

He wants to be everyone's end all, be all.

When Deann gave him some in-depth information about Mason, he was not happy that she had her own life outside of theirs even though they had an open relationship. What bothered him wasn't so much that she had an affair but how obvious it was that Deann loved the other woman.

It was a love that he was lacking from her. Her love for Mason came before Deann ever met Terence and that's probably what bothered him most of all.

He also wasn't too thrilled with her bringing Mason's son into the fold. And he definitely didn't like that Deann wasn't too keen on bringing Wes into the IHM fold.

What that meant to Terence was that he didn't have full control of Deann like he thought he did. She was still holding on to a part of her past that made her happy. She hadn't completely given up everything and created a new narrative like he thought she did.

If she could keep that hidden, what else might she be hiding?

He is worried that he's losing his touch. He didn't see Deann's hidden life. He can't figure out what's going on with Megan. He's losing control of Kyle because of Megan.

Basically, Terence's life is falling apart. His foundation is crumbling just as he told Shaun, but being at church is also going to renew him just as Shaun told him.

They're going to get closer and closer, and Shaun is going to reveal all sorts of Megan's secrets.

Megan doesn't have anyone else on the inside to get information for her to bring Terence down, but Megan needs to open her eyes and see that Shaun is no longer on the same page.

Shaun is in Terence's world right now. Shaun doesn't know it, but she's in love with her boss. It's clear as day and Terence is going to realize it soon and use it to his advantage.

I still believe that Shaun is going to end up having Terence's baby. There is a relationship brewing there, it just needs a little bit more fire.

I'm not all that into the Xavier and Megan affair storyline. She doesn't seem that into him but Kyle's nervousness about Xavier's feelings for Megan are valid. 

He won't be able to deal with another breakup and his career might suffer for it as well. He knows how easy it is to fall into an affair in Hollywood, and with Megan's naivete, knows it's a possibility for her to fall for Xavier.

Megan genuinely seemed shocked at Nacine's revelations at the beach, and I have to wonder if this is another setup by Terence.

How else would the press get wind of an arrangement unless it came from Terence's camp? The only other logical answer would be that Nacine spread the rumor to give herself some attention like Megan said.

Still, the whole thing is weird, and I'm not buying into it just yet. Something will have to push Megan into Xavier's arms and the only thing I can think of will be Kyle's devotion to Terence and IHM.

The Blacklist Season 5 Episode 17 Review: Anna-Gracia Duerte

The Blacklist Photo Preview: Chef Red!

It's been how long since Red and Liz has been on our screens? I know it's only been a few short weeks, but it seems like forever!

The plot is getting too juicy for these long hiatuses, so I hope this is the last one we'll have until the end of the season. Can you believe it's almost the end of the season already?

Red made his deal with the devil on The Blacklist Season 5 Episode 16, and we know it's only going to be a matter of time before Liz learns about Red's betrayal.

Red is cooking dinner for Liz and Dembe, but these happy times will be coming to an end soon.  Still, it's nice to see the happy family together though Dembe doesn't look too thrilled. Is he nervous about the case or about Red's cooking?

There's not a lot of information on Anna-Gracia Duerte, but she is key to something that will bring down Garvey. The question is whether Red will get the bones before it's too late!

The Arrangement Season 2 Episode 4 Review: Scene 23

Does anyone even remember The Kill Plan because I sure don't? The film made its premiere but didn't go over well with audiences or critics causing Kyle to feel like a failure.

While Kyle's fear of failure is an interesting concept to explore, the more interesting parts of The Arrangement Season 2 Episode 4 were Megan's failure to listen to Shaun and the fallout of her stupidity.

When is Megan going to realize that Terence is all knowing? What she should really do is give up the fight to take down the Institute of the Higher Mind and Terence because she's not going to be successful.

It's clear as day now that Terence knows exactly what's going on, and I'll bet my bottom dollar that Shaun spilled the beans about everything. After her weird naked session with Terence and the rest of the IHM group, she's fully succumbed to the Kool-Aid she's been trying to stay away from.

The only reason he even had that session was to get into Shaun's head because he knew he was onto something. He has an uncanny ability to read people, and with his resources, he can find out what he wants when he wants. He's honed the ability over the years, and anyone will be hard-pressed to beat him at his game.

I'm even starting to believe that he had something to do with Mason's death. We still don't know what happened to Deann's lover, but it's odd that she died right after her love fest with Deann.

Mason didn't fit into his plans of having a baby with Deann, so I'm guessing that Terence did what he does best -- he got rid of the obstacle.

Terence is a sick man. I'm sure Megan isn't the first person to try to destroy him and The Institute of the Higher Mind. She's just going to be a fail at it like everyone else before her.

Deciding to meet with hope wasn't the smartest move. Hope is a vindictive bitch, and as soon as she knew what Megan wanted, the wheels started churning about how she was going to twist things to her advantage.

The tension of that whole car scene was incredible. At first, I thought Terence sent someone to follow Megan. I was waiting for Hope to get shot in the head and for Megan to be dragged off for another session in the cage or whatever they call that isolated area at IHM.

But Hope had every intention of using Megan. She set it all up. Her movie is coming out, and a scandal with superstar Megan is one way to amp up the publicity.

Megan continues to show what an idiot she truly is. Not only is she continuing to let Terence get into her head, but she's making poor choices. She's also blind as a bat. 

I'm also starting to wonder if she has any internal warning system because bells should have been going off about Shaun for quite some time. It makes me crazy that Megan is so stupid, but maybe that's what Hollywood does to you. 

At least she was smart enough to walk away from Zach. If Terence learned Megan's plans from Shaun, she's in a hell of a lot of trouble. There's no way Kyle is going to take her side. She has no one to turn to and no one to trust. Her world is completely over.

The only hope she has is if Shaun didn't tell Terence everything, but, as I said earlier, she finally drank the Kool-Aid, and her alliance is now fully with Terence and IHM even if she says differently.

Deann drank the Kool-Aid a long time ago, but it seemed like she was finally coming out of the fog. Unfortunately, Terence worked his magic, and she's back under his spell.

It gave me chills when he told her he wanted to leave a part of himself behind. Isn't that what all those crazy cult leaders say?

Deann is an experiment. He wants to see if he can actually father a child. After baby number one, he's going to go down the list of all the pretty women at IHM and convince them to have his baby, too. 

My bet is that Shaun will be next.

Someone needs to stop this guy. Wouldn't it be great if Kyle came to his senses and was the one to help Megan end it before it got any crazier?

The Terror: 7 Things to Know About The Season Premiere

Cold, dark and being isolated may not be most people's idea of a good time, but when you're an explorer and part of the Royal Navy on a quest to find the Northwest Passage, it just might be the most exciting thing you'll ever do in your life.

On The Terror Season 1 Episode 1 and The Terror Season 1 Episode 2, we are introduced to the crew of the HMS Erebus and the HMS Terror tasked with taking on this extraordinary voyage that ultimately turns into a horrific disaster.

What is The Terror about and why should you watch? Read on!

1. Horror and History All Rolled Into One

The Terror is based on a 2007 novel by Dan Simmons which is inspired by a true story. It follows a Royal Navy expedition to find the Northwest Passage. While the expedition is real and the characters are based on real people, most of the plot is fictionalized.

The idea of being isolated in the Arctic surrounded ice is enough to send anyone screaming especially when starvation and illness hangs ominously over everyone's head on the HMS Erebus and the HMS Terror.

Throw in a supernatural monster that stalks the men, and it's the perfect recipe for a nightmare of epic proportions.

2, Captain Francis Crozier will quickly become your favorite ...

Even though we know all the men on the Erebus and Terror will die in the end, there's always hope that one of them will survive. If I could choose only one, I'd probably pick Francis (Jared Harris).

He's experienced enough to know the dangers of sailing through the Arctic and doesn't try to cover it up with fake optimism like Sir John (Ciarán Hinds) who is nothing but arrogant.

Others, like Captain James Fitzjames (Tobias Menzies), find Francis utterly depressing. I find him utterly fascinating. He reminds me in a way of Quint from Jaws.

After a challenge from Fitzjames during dinner, Francis tells him, "There be no melodramas here. Only live men or dead men," in sort of the same way Quint warned Mayor Vaughn about the horror the great white shark was about to bring to Amity Island. Quint knew what he was talking about and so does Francis.

3. ... And so will Dr. Goodsir

Dr. Goodsir is kind, compassionate and cares about his patients, but he also knows there's something funky happening in their isolated corner of the world. He comes to this realization after David Young dies suddenly in a fit of hysterics. What I like about Goodsir is that he's not afraid to do what's right despite the coldness of those around him, particularly Dr. Stanley.

I didn't like how Stanley just stood there, not offering a hand when Goodsir performed the autopsy on Young. (And let's not even delve into the graphic nature of the autopsy.)

What was even worse was when Stanley refused to help the dying Inuit man. Dr. Stanley is not the kind of doctor I'd want treating me, and when the Tuunbaq comes, I hope it attacks Stanley and leaves Goodsir alone. We can hope, right?

4. Tuunbaq

We got our first glimpse of the monster that will terrorize the crew when the polar bear-like being (it looked like a deformed polar bear) snatched Lieutenant Gore (what a name) and made mincemeat of him.

It could be that Gore's death was by a real polar bear, but I'll put my money on Tuunbaq. Now that the Inuit man has died, it's only going to get worse, even if his death was an accident. The daughter, who will become Lady Silence, is freaked out that she's now in control of her father's monster and fears that she won't be able to control it.

She has warned the crew they need to leave, but they have nowhere to go because Sir John didn't listen to the smartest guy in the place, Francis, when he suggested they take an alternative route.

Instead, Sir John thought he knew better and now they're stuck and they're all about to die by something much, much worse than just starvation, cold and illness.

5. The horror is real even if it is all green screen and fake ice

I don't want to destroy the magic, but green screens amaze me, and I love behind-the-scenes photos showing how the magic is created. There is a disturbing atmosphere that has been created. The darkness and shadows add to the fear, and you can feel the cold and isolation. It may not be real, but it certainly feels real. 

6. It's genuinely creepy

The scariest part of the season premiere was right before David Young died his horrific death. The young sailor didn't see angels like Dr. Goodsir said he would. Instead, David saw an Inuit man (the same one who was accidentally shot later) whose head changed into something non-human.

If I was dying, that would not be what I would want to see in my last moments. And the thought message the Inuit man sent to David was even scarier because who's going to listen to the hysterics of a man on his deathbed?

Dr. Goodsir was concerned, but Dr. Stanley wasn't impressed when Goodsir told him what happened. It's something he'll regret later, I'm sure.

David's death wasn't the only scary part. Every moment of The Terror is ensconced in fear. Even Henry Collins going into the water in his old-time scuba suit was extremely frightening.

We only saw the shadow of the figure floating toward him, but that was all we needed to see for our hair to stand on end. Hell, just the idea of him going into the water and not knowing if he'd be able to get back up was heart-stopping. 

If this is the kind of stuff we saw the first two hours, then it can only get better. 

7. You won't be able to stop watching once you start

I didn't intend on watching The Terror. I didn't even record it. I heard about it from a fellow Fanatic and decided to give it a try. I can't believe I almost missed watching this masterpiece.

There's not much TV that keeps me glued to the screen so I'm usually watching and doing something else like scouring the internet or playing games on my laptop. The Terror got my full attention from beginning to end. I couldn't turn away. I didn't want to turn away. For me, that's extremely rare.

If you haven't seen it, I hope you give The Terror a shot. It'll be worth your time.

Family Guy Season 16 Episode 13 Review: V is for Mystery

It was a little odd when Peter interrupted the middle of Family Guy Season 16 Episode 13 to tell the audience that Family Guy would return to normal next week.

I have to wonder if that was originally part of the episode or if it was added in because while "V is for Mystery" wasn't nearly as bad as Family Guy Season 16 Episode 12, it still left a lot to be desired.

Was the show trying to assuage its audience?

Maybe Family Guy is just trying out different things to test audience reaction. Maybe the powers that be think we're all bored with the same old dysfunctional episodes week after week.

Maybe it's the powers that be who are getting bored. 

Maybe what the powers that be need to do is cut the cord instead of trying to reinvent the wheel that none of us are interested in watching be reinvented.

It sort of reminds me of Scooby Doo and its different incarnations to appeal to new audiences. It just didn't work. There's nothing like the classic.

The only incarnation that even came close was Be Cool Scooby Doo, and that series was like an homage to the classic because their monsters were very similar to the monsters from the originals.

Stewie and Brian playing Sherlock Holmes and John Watson was interesting. I can't say fun because I'm not that into British mysteries. Many of them are way too dry for my taste.

But Stewie as Sherlock Holmes definitely fits his personality. At least his detailed description of how he solved his mysteries made sense (and consistent with the classic Holmes) unlike the garbage he spewed to the school psychologist on "Send in Stewie, Please".

There were plenty of classic jokes to fit into this "classic" episode.

I especially enjoyed the reference to the Tom Hanks classic movie,  "Big" when Stewie and Brian played "Heart and Soul" via the bagpipes stuck in the gut of the dead hooker.

And I absolutely loved, loved, loved, the whole Love Boat reference. I even snickered at the chimney cleaners bit.

What wasn't funny was Cosby as the court jester. Why even give that guy any attention -- even in the form of a slam on a show like Family Guy?

Why bother going down that road?

Even back in the old days, Stewie was as resourceful as ever. He made a crazy hooker robot that unfortunately was "killed" by Lois, but how come no one noticed that his genius extended beyond solving murders?

I don't know about anyone else, but it was easy to figure out that Lois was the culprit, but who guessed that Peter was, indeed, the Scottish Brute? 

Holmes was right when he put Peter away, but Peter was clever to get Lois to do his dirty work so that he would be released from prison. That's a big surprise because Peter is far from being clever, but in a British mystery, even the crazy murderers have brains.

While the story was slow-moving and dry, the opening credit artwork was really fun. My favorite was Stewie holding the magnifying glass and the beam from the sun burning Brian's bottom. I also liked Brian chasing after the bubbles. 

I always laugh at Brian because he tries so hard to be a sophisticated "human" but can't escape the fact that underneath it all, he is still a dog. Even when Stewie was operating his robot hooker, instead of being there to witness Constance trying to kill the robot, he was in the alley chasing rats, because, well, that's what dogs do.

We didn't quite get an answer as to why hookers with names starting with "V" were being killed unless I missed it which is always a possibility because sometimes Family Guy packs so much in it's easy for some stuff to be overlooked.

And to be honest, I really don't care what the reason was. "V is for Mystery" may not have been the best episode of Family Guy, but if you look past the dryness of the story, there were many enjoyable parts. And even if you hated it, you still have to admit that much of the animation was quite beautiful. I wouldn't mind hanging some of those pieces in my TV room.

The Arrangement Season 2 Episode 3 Review: The Sessions

Terence and Megan got a little too close for comfort on The Arrangement Season 2 Episode, but Terence got into Megan's head probably as much as the alcohol did.

Does this mean she's going to give up the fight to bring IHM down?

Megan thought she was smart by telling Terence he was her biggest fear. I'm not sure what she expected to gain from telling him that, but she had a plan that pretty much fell short when he turned the tables and got into her head, instead.

There's no doubt that he is suspicious of her. He knows she's hiding something. As much as she tries to play it off, she doesn't do a very good job.

She's a horrible actress not only in her sessions with Terence but in front of the screen as well.

Sorry, Megan, you just don't impress me very much.

She doesn't impress Terence very much either, and I get the feeling he can see right through her.

It was scary when he told her that she was just like him. She was caught off guard when he revealed issues in his childhood relating to his parents, specifically his dad.

And it was even scarier when he kept pushing about Megan's anger with her parents, specifically her father.

It was like she was drowning every time he said something. How does he know so much?

I'm going back to my original theory that he's being fed information from Shaun. How else would he know so much about her father and mother and her feelings about both of them?

And why hasn't she figured out that Shaun may not be her best friend after all?

This is all conjecture because we haven't seen anything to indicate Shaun is a traitor, but she has got to be the key to all this, right?

The whole Terence and Megan having dinner and drinks and then dancing was a little unnerving. I'm not sure that Kyle would have appreciated what was going on, even if it was innocent.

In fact, I don't think Kyle likes Terence spending any time with Megan at all because he was awfully testy with her, and it went deeper than just him being nervous about his directorial debut.

Megan might have been right when she wondered if Terence was jealous of Kyle. He may have denied it, but there has to be a tiny tinge, especially knowing that Terence wanted to be an actor. 

He wanted to be Kyle but didn't have the right stuff, so he decided to create a cult as a way to "help" people find their passion and live out their dreams. Personally, I think the whole thing is a way for him to punish everyone for him not getting what he wanted in his life.

Terence is dealing with deep-seated issues, and the incident in the garage brought them to the surface. Terence is all about control. He couldn't control what happened to his father, and that formed his whole persona.

He didn't delve too much into his issues with his mother except that he was angry with his dad for leaving him with her. It had to be traumatic losing his father the way he did. Who knows how his mother dealt with it, but that kind of tragedy can send anyone over the deep end.

It certainly messed up Terence's head so why not mess with other people's head, right?

I wouldn't mind seeing a spinoff just about Terence. I wouldn't mind seeing Megan in that mix either. While it's entirely messed up, their relationship is the most intriguing of the series.

They both have serious issues and hidden agendas, and it's fun watching them play off each other. I just wish he didn't so easily manipulate her. She always starts off strong and then falters when it starts getting heavy.

Why can't she just stay strong? It would be different if she freaked out about things out of sight of people. I don't like that she gives Terence that power. It's what he wants, and it's how he's going to end up controlling her.

The relationship between Kyle and Megan is getting boring. I don't care much about them or their movie. Maybe it's because they haven't been spending much time together.

Shouldn't they be planning their wedding? Why is IHM doing everything? How sad for her that she has no say in any of it.

Deann was about as shocked as I was when Terence brought up the idea of kids. Yuck. Can you imagine him being a father? 

It's just another element of control for him. Deann isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, either. Terence influences her too much, and now that something tragic has happened to Mason, she's not going to be strong enough to hold him off.

And once he gets going with one kid, who's to say he'll stop. I can see his ego going off like a flight of fireworks and him having kids with every woman at IHM. That's how mentally ill Terence is. 

Megan needs to step out of herself and refocus. Finding her father isn't the priority -- bringing down IHM is.

The Arrangement Season 2 Episode 2 Review: Surface Tension

Deann wasn't kidding when she told Mason that Terence is all about control because if he wasn't he wouldn't be keeping his near death experience on The Arrangement Season 2 Episode 2 to himself.

What is with that guy, anyway?

Part of me was hoping he would have gotten shot just so that maybe something would have sunk into his messed up brain. Maybe he would have become humble. Instead, he's just as much of a bastard as before -- maybe even worse.

I wonder why Deann even stays with him. It's not like she doesn't have other people she can be with or turn to. I get that they are business partners, but I also wonder if he has something over her that causes her to stay. 

If I was her, I'd be long gone. He serves no purpose in her life.

They're not even having sex, and it doesn't seem like she even wants to have sex with him, so what is the point of them being together?

They are in an open relationship which they both seem to be okay with, but yet she's jealous of his encounters with other women, and he's pissed because they're not having sex with each other.

Again, I ask, why have a relationship at all.

I'd love to delve into their backstory and see how they met and what the real reason is that they stay together. 

I'm sure it has to do with the Institute of the Higher Mind. Everything revolves around that weirdo organization. I can't believe they have their own talent agency. 

It makes you wonder how deep into Hollywood this goes. Maybe what we're seeing is just the tip of the iceberg and there's whole world we don't even realize exists.

It's scary to think that people like this actually exist. What is it that compels people to become part of an organization like this? How can people fall into it so easily?

It has to be hard for Megan to be dealing with everything she's dealing with right now. Trying to keep her head on straight while working on her career and sorting out her feelings for Kyle. 

And, of course, trying to bring the Institute for the Higher Mind down. 

What was the deal with Lisbeth? 

I didn't quite follow what was happening there. Was she just repeating what she was told to repeat, was she trying to warn off Megan, or was she just completely nuts?

There was almost no point for Megan to have visited her because the only thing she learned was that Terence tried to poison her which was relevant because Megan was having the same kind of pains, but I'm sure there could have been another way to share that information with the audience.

Yes, things got a bit loopy and disconnected for a while.

If you think about it, there was no point to Terence having his near death encounter when he didn't learn anything from it. The flashbacks were terrifying, but didn't really move the story forward.

And the only thing we got out of it was Terence wanting to work with Megan to see what was causing Megan her physical symptoms.

At that point, wouldn't she have gotten information back from the doctor about what he thought caused her to pass out? She had to have shared with him what was happening, right?

Why would it have taken Terence so long to want to work with Megan on this issue?

This makes me think that Lisbeth has just lost her mind because if Terence was poisoning her, Megan would have jumped on it and had herself secretly tested by some other doctor.

At least that's what I would have done if someone told me they were being poisoned, and I had the same symptoms.

Megan seems to have a plan, but it's not a very clear one. 

And that's the problem I'm having with The Arrangement right now. It's not very clear where everything is going and how it's connected. We have weird encounters and then time jumps, and it all seems a bit haphazard.

Maybe it was just this installment.
