Last Man Standing Revival Eyed at Fox

Last Man Standing may not be dead yet.

According to several reports, a revival of the ABC comedy series is in the works. This time, however, new episodes will air on Fox.

Series star, Tim Allen has already closed a deal to appear in a potential seventh season, while the rest of the cast and crew are said to be in negotiations to return.

ABC swung the ax on Last Man Standing last May after deciding to take comedies away from Friday nights entirely.

Last Man Standing Season 6 averaged 6.4 million viewers and a 1.2 rating on Friday nights. These figures were right on par with Season 5's results.

While those on-air ratings are solid, ABC did not own the show, so they made little off the backend of the show.

With Fox owning the show, it should allow the network to make a sizable profit from the show.

The cancellation last year was surprising, and it was widely speculated that Allen's right-wing beliefs were to blame for the show being let go.

However, ABC boss Channing Dungey put it down to the network's decision to take comedies away from Friday nights.

In any case, CMT once tried to save the series, but the talks remained just that, and the show stayed dead.

If the series is coming back in any form, Fox will likely announce it at the Fox Upfront Presentation which takes place Monday, May 14.
