Once Upon a Time delved into Mother Gothel's past in "Flower Child." It gave a little insight into how she became cruel and may have explained what she is planning. Though Gothel's backstory was interesting, the episode seemed a little disjointed. It's hard to determine where exactly the show is going. A little bit of mystery is usually a good thing, but Once Upon a Time season 7 edges closer to confusing than mysterious.
