The Librarians Season 4 Episode 11 Review: And the Trial of One
That's certainly one effective way to bring everything to a head.
The scorecard at the end of The Librarians Season 4 Episode 11 was zero Librarians remaining and one villain revealed.
Oh, and the whole Tethering Ceremony became a moot point.
Once again, the Librarians played with magic they didn't understand, but this time Jenkins ended up paying the price for their efforts.
Yes, I agreed with Jacob that this magic spell to select the Librarian had to be better than drawing straws. Only it wasn't.
Instead, we got to see The Library in action and learned how important the human influence had been for centuries on that institution.
As a result, it became a battle to the death for the Librarians rather than just a couple of them having to resign. I guess they hadn't really taken a big-picture view of things while they were squabbling over who should be The Librarian. Returning to their old lives, while disappointing, would certainly beat being dead.
All season, Jenkins had been urging the Librarians to choose who was going to tether with Eve. Yes, adventures kept getting in the way, but there was enough downtime for them to think, "Hey, maybe we should do something to prevent the fast-approaching apocalypse."
Nope. They just shrugged it off as Jenkins being Jenkins.
But it turned out that Galahad, who had been with the Library for several centuries, knew what he was talking about. Too bad no one believed him in time.
The best part about the "Trial of the One" is that we discovered each person's greatest fear.
It made sense that Cassandra, who remains the weird kid in the room, was tormented by her classmates.
For the world's greatest thief, Ezekiel, being captured should have been his deepest concern.
Less obvious was Jacob's fear of magic. That would have to make being a Librarian extremely difficult.
Finally, there was poor Eve, who was forced to watch, until she finally figured out she was experiencing her worst fear -- being unable to protect her charges.
Even after her eyes were opened (by the Eye of Ampix), it was arrogant of Eve to believe she could fool The Library, the repository of all wisdom.
The Library was one step ahead of her the whole time, and Jenkins got killed because of her misstep.
Now let's look at the battle among the Librarians.
I've said all along that if a choice must be made from the three remaining Librarians, it should be Jacob. Like Flynn, he has the best combination of physical and intellectual skills.
That's not to say that Cassandra and Ezekiel don't bring their own skill sets to the table. They're just not as well-rounded as Jacob.
Still, they held their own during the trial. If Eve hadn't intervened during the standoff among the three, who knows what would have happened?
I'm betting nothing. As on The Librarians Season 4 Episode 9, when Jacob and Ezekiel previously had their minds clouded by magic but resisted, I don't think the three friends could kill each other.
Granted, The Library had much more powerful hoodoo, so it's hard to say what the outcome would have been.
I was disappointed that Nicole, the only recurring character from this season, was the villain behind all the problems at The Library. It was just too predictable.
On The Librarians Season 4 Episode 1, Jenkins explained Nicole was imprisoned for planning to attack the Library.
He was right, sort of. Nicole's plan was more devious: to cause humans to lose faith in The Library, ultimately severing the connection, benefitting both.
It was infuriating listening to Nicole lord it over Eve, telling her how Eve made things so much easier for Nicole's scheme to reach fruition. Oh, yeah, she also had Flynn locked up somewhere.
In the end, Eve got thrown back into a bleak world where the benefits of The Library don't exist for humanity.
So let's look ahead to the season finale, The Librarians Season 4 Episode 12. I'm guessing Eve will have to track the three free Librarians, convince them of their mission, then rescue Flynn from Nicole. Of course, this assumes those people exist in this new, knowledgeless world.
Now, how to bring back Jenkins. Time travel, or a resurrection spell? It has to be one of those oldie-but-goodie tropes.
To catch up before the finale, watch The Librarians online.
Did you foresee Nicole as the villain behind this season's crises? What did you think of the Librarians quitting? How will they bring back their world? Comment below.

Suits Season 8 Adds Kathine Heigl - Who Will She Play?!
With the series-jolting loss of stars Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle, Suits has to something to equally as exciting to replace them.
They've made their move by engaging Katherine Heigl as the newest lead for Suits Season 8.
That's right, Suits is moving away from the male buddy dynamic built around Adam's Mike Ross and Gabriel Macht's Harvey Specter and giving it a go with a male/female driven show.
Heigl will star opposite Macht as Samantha Wheeler – a talented new partner at Pearson Specter Litt who challenges the status quo and will either become the firm’s greatest ally … or most powerful enemy.
Heigl joins the Suits ensemble alongside Macht, Sarah Rafferty (Donna Paulsen), Rick Hoffman (Louis Litt) and new series regular Dulé Hill (Alex Williams). Season 8 begins production this April in Toronto.
“Joining Suits was the perfect organic way to not only collaborate with an EP I admire deeply but to also become part of a show and cast that I am an immense fan of,” shared Katherine Heigl.
“I have watched Suits from the very beginning and feel incredibly lucky to be the newest member of the Pearson Specter Litt family.”
“On behalf of the entire Suits team, I am extraordinarily excited to welcome Katherine Heigl into our family – I have always been a big fan of her work and was delighted to discover she was an avid Suits fan herself,” expressed Aaron Korsh, creator and executive producer of Suits.
“I cannot wait to have her come play with our entire cast and crew. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Harvey, Louis, Donna and Alex as the mysterious Samantha Wheeler is a direct threat to their status quo.
"One thing is for sure – Samantha's wit, charm, loyalty, strength, and vulnerability will all be put to the test as she muscles her way into the firm currently known as Pearson Specter Litt.”
Heigl is an Emmy Award-winning and two-time Golden Globe-nominated actress, as well as a producer.
She is best known for starring in the feature films 27 Dresses, Knocked Up and The Ugly Truth, which she also executive produced, as well as for her work on ABC’s critically acclaimed drama Grey’s Anatomy.
Whether you love her or not, you have to admit this character will definitely shake things up on Suits!
We need to hear your thoughts on this NOW.
What do you think having a new, powerful female partner at the firm will do to Donna? Are we in for yet another round of Louis falls in love?
Are you excited about the change and will you trust in Aaron Korsh and the Suits team to know what they're doing, or are you going to let past prejudices rule your world before giving Samantha Wheeler a chance?
If you watch Suits online, you should know they always have your back. So....
It's your turn. Hit the comments and have your say!
Are you ready for all the changes coming to Suits???

Criminal Minds Sneak Peek: Is Barnes Cleaning House??
If you watched Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, you know to be concerned when Agent Barnes shows up.
She's a house cleaner. She shut down the team.
Now, when the team should be concerned about their unsettling case on Criminal Minds Season 13 Episode 14, they're instead worried about the future of the BAU.
Rightly so.
The BAU is called to The Big Easy when the New Orleans P.D. discovers a mass grave inside a vandalized above-ground crypt in a local cemetery. It looks bad, you guys. It's the kind of case our team is meant to solve.
But under the current situation, it's concerning. Will they be their best?
Of course they will. As Spencer says in the exclusive clip below, they are the best.
Still, it's hard to not to wonder if something in particular prompted Emily's administrative leave for for the investigation into the team's activities surrounding the time of Spencer's arrest and incarceration in Mexico.
That's especially true after Barnes asks of JJ whether she ever wondered why she was passed over for Hotch's position, which instead went to Prentiss.
What does she know that we don't?
If you watch Criminal Minds online, you think it's weird, right?
Especially because the rest of us have always been asking why the job didn't go to Rossi!!
Well, take a look at the clip below and prepare for another exciting episode of Criminal Minds tonight at 9/8c on CBS.

Cynthia Bailey Doesn’t Believe That Will Has a Girlfriend; Says She’s Still Friends With Peter Thomas
Cynthia Bailey’s post-divorce love life is just about the only storyline she’s got going these days. So it’s clear that The Real Housewives Of Atlanta would want to spice things up when it comes to Cynthia’s excessively boring non-exclusive dating paramour, Will.
Even though Will seems like a flash in the pan, that flash burned a bit brighter when newcomer Eva Marcille spilled the tea about him having a girlfriend during the time he was dating Cynthia. Despite Eva’s eye witness account, Cynthia isn’t buying it. She’s standing by her temporary man, come what may!
Before Eva’s revelation, Cynthia says she and Will agreed to keep their relationship casual – so what does it matter who else they’re dating? She tells Bravo, “I felt like he was being very open, honest, and transparent, and I respect that in a man. I’m really enjoying his company and getting to know him. I’m still newly divorced, so I want to take my time.”
Taking her time means seeing other people socially – like her ex-husband Peter Thomas at parties, for example! When Cynthia spotted Peter and Kandi Burruss’s Essence cover unveiling, she claims, “I was shocked…because I didn’t know he was going to be there. I never actually got to really see him (or speak to him), which felt kind of weird. I love the friendship we share now, so I never want to be in the same place with him and not be cordial. We have both moved on, and I never want it to be awkward between us.”
RELATED: Kandi Burruss Thinks Porsha Williams Lied About Believing Phaedra Parks About The Rumors Last Year
The night only became more awkward when Will found himself embroiled in Eva’s rumors. (Hey – he’s the new Peter! Good job grabbing that screen time, newbie!) While Cynthia may be okay with an “open” relationship, she draws the line at dating a dude who has an actual girlfriend. But until a live human woman is presented to her, apparently she’s deciding that Will’s telling the truth!
After she heard Eva’s story, Cynthia says, “I didn’t believe it. I assumed Will was dating people before we met — why wouldn’t he be? It would actually be kind of strange if he wasn’t. He is a great guy. I’m also dating, and we aren’t dating exclusively. I’m not ready to be exclusive with anyone yet. He was very clear about not having a girlfriend or being in a serious relationship with anyone, and I believe him. Obviously, a girlfriend is a deal breaker.”

Kandi Burruss Teases That Real Housewives Of Atlanta Cast Members Rub Eva Marcille The Wrong Way
We only got to see a little bit of Eva Marcille during her first Real Housewives of Atlanta episode, but she definitely delivered. She isn’t a full-time Housewife, but so far it looks like she has what it takes to hold up a peach during the opening credits next season.
She spilled some major tea about Cynthia Bailey’s new man Will Jones introducing her to someone that he labeled as a “girlfriend” during a period that overlapped with his time with Cynthia. On top of that, his version of the story changed multiple times during that episode.
During the Watch What Happens Live after show, Kandi Burruss dished on the newest Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member. She admitted, “I like Eva. I think she’s really cool. I like the way she handled herself.” Obviously, this is alluding to Eva spilling that Will tea and sticking to her story when he brought her into his conversation with Cynthia.
Kandi teased, “You’ll see some things coming up in the future where people rub her the wrong way. She handles herself.”
That could not be more vague, but Eva made a solid first impression during the last episode. She seems like someone who can hold her own and it will be interesting to see who she gets along with, but even more interesting to see who she spars with. She does not seem like someone anyone should want to mess with.
