The team gets a blast from the past in the S.W.A.T. episode "Ghosts," when a killer from a case from two years ago resurfaces. And we get to see a new side to Luca when he takes the case particularly hard.
The S.W.A.T. episode "Ghosts" begins with a flashback to two years ago. Buck's still leading the team and Jessica's just starting out in her job. The team's chasing a serial killer called "the vanity killer," who goes after Hollywood hopefuls and just took his latest victim. They go into a warehouse and find the victim, who shows Luca that another guy is being held there too. While Luca's taking care of them, the team finds the killer, who's ready to blow a whole bunch of C4. The guy, who's chained up, begs Luca to help him, but they have to get out before the place blows, so Luca promises to come back for him. Luca gets the woman out and is about to run back in, but of course, the place blows up. It's absolutely heartbreaking.
