In the Dark has its leading lady!
According to Deadline, Perry Mattfield has landed the lead role the highly anticipated CW pilot.
The crime drama landed a pilot order just weeks ago, and it sure sounds like an intriguing series.
Per the official logline:
"A flawed and irreverent blind woman is the only “witness” to the murder of her drug-dealing friend. After the police dismiss her story, she sets out with her dog, Pretzel, to find the killer while also managing her colorful dating life and the job she hates at Breaking Blind, the guide dog school owned by her overprotective parents."

It certainly sounds like a fresh concept for a series. Perry will take on the lead role of Murphy.
Mattfield most recently appeared as a recurring character on Shameless Season 8 as Mel, one of Fiona's tenants in her apartment block.
She has also appeared in the likes of Stitchers and The Wizards of Waverly Place.
Aside from Mattfield's casting, Brooke Markham and Keston John have also landed co-starring roles on the potential series.

Markham will take on the role of Jess aka Murphy's best friend. Given how close the pair are, Jess is said to be very protective of her Murphy.
John will take on the role of Darnell, a drug dealer who may or may not have had something to do with the death of Tyson.
In the Dark joins The CW's bursting at the seams roster of pilots which stands at nine in total.
With the network expanding programming to six nights in the fall, it is expected to order four or five pilots to series.
