How Is Lala Back from the Dead on 'Black Lightning'?

"Equinox: The Book of Fate" was easily the busiest episode of Black Lightning yet. The fallout of Anissa being revealed as meta not only had to be dealt with but several significant characters met their doom, one even at the hands of Peter Gambi. Yet the biggest surprise of "Equinox" might've been the very last and very confusing scene. It was revealed that Latavius, otherwise known as Lala, was alive and well-ish. In addition, Lala now has a tattoo of LaWanda, his own murder victim, on his chest and she can communicate with him. Everything that fans thought they knew about Black Lightning seems to be turned upon its head.
